Guest guest
One thing I noticed about the Detour bars, they're even better cold! The first one I ate was tasty, but the soft texture wasn't quite right. I stuck some in the refrigerator and the cold made them a little chewy. Poof! Snickers! Detour bars I got my bars in the mail today...Thanks for the tip!!! They are wonderful. I will limit them though. They are lower in sugar, but have 100 calories more than the Myoplex lite bars. But they are a perfect fix when I crave something sweet!

Guest guest
I actually think they're close to being a Snickers bar as they are. They have almost the same number of calories (290 compared to 300 that a snickers has). They have more than half the fat of a Snickers (9 grams compared to 17). Yes, they have more protein and less sugar, but I wouldn't have more than one a week if that. > I swear we are going to find out someday that they > really just put a Snickers in a different package and > charged us all up the wazooo for something that was > horrible for us!!! Guest guest
I'm with you on that one. Although, I do feel like I'm cheating when I eat one.
Guest guest
I need help to try to find somewhere that will get these bars here in Edmonton, Canada. The local health food store says that i need as much info from the wrapper as possible. I need to know who makes them and where are they from etc. What is the exact name of the flavour etc. Thanks everyone! Celine:) Re: Detour bars I'm with you on that one. Guest guest
Oh, the humanity! No nuts and caramel? I would call the customer service number on the wrapper and cry like a baby. Maybe they'd send me some free ones. :-) :-) Detour Bars Hi, i broke down and bought a 1/2 case (split with a friend), and they left the carmel and nuts off of all the bars. :-( Kim in Az

Guest guest
They taste great and they have a good amount of protein. Hoever, they are a bit high in fat (incuding saturated fat) and calories (290) and very high in sodium. Lots of people following BFL use them because they do taste delicious and really are pretty decent in terms of nutrition. For me, I use them more like a treat--after a particularly grueling workout, for instance, only because I generally try to keep my supplement meals in the 250 calorie range and I prefer bars that have less sugar and sodium. > Hello everyone > I wsa wondering if someone could tell me what was so bad about > detour bars. Guest guest
Nothing is so bad about Detour bars. They're one of the better choices if you're going to eat a bar. They have 32 grams of protein and only 6g of sugar. They're rather large (290 cals) and expensive. Very tasty though. Detour Bars Hello everyone I wsa wondering if someone could tell me what was so bad about detour bars. I bought some yesturday and the guy at the health food store said that they aren't that bad and they have no sugare and 32g of protein. I was hesitant to buy them but he made them sound that they are no worse than any other bar out there. Can someone please help me. Thank you Betty

Guest guest
I know Next Proteins makes some of their other bars in smaller sizes (the designer whey oens) so maybe that is what these are? Laurie Detour Bars I finally found Detours in the GNC section of my local RiteAid. But they are smaller than the ones you guys talk about. These have 170 calories and they say NEW on the side. Mine are in the freezer now, but I'm hoping to chow on one soon! I guess it's about the same > as me cutting the big one in half?! > >It's exactly like cutting one in half....When I read the post yesterday about them I immediately ran down to Rite Aid (used to be Thriftys). I looked in the GNC dept. and there they were (only 4 left). I bought two cos I had a couple of big ones at home. The advanage of them I think are to take on the go...at home I usually cut a lg one in half and put theother half in my drawer...easy to have the whole thing if going somewhere. They cost me 1.99. It'd be nice if Trader Joes would get osme in...they do have Whey Protein products....just not those. Pat (who is proud to report a perfect day yesterday down to the 40, 40, 20 per fitday...yeah!) Guest guest
I prefer Detour and U-turn and one-way bars also. They are the most balanced of all the bars I have seen outside of GNC. And since they are by Designer Whey, I trust them. I sometimes have to get the big ones from GNC though, or eat two of the smaler ones. > > Hi , > > > > Yes, I started on March 1st. Guest guest
Oh, GNC is so high-priced! If you don't mind buying off of the internet, vitaglo.com has them for a lot cheaper than GNC, if you want the bigger ones. I know Wal-Mart now carries the smaller ones, but I'm not sure what the stats are on those. Just thought I'd let you know that you can get them cheaper elsewhere! > > > Hi , > > > > > > Yes, I started on March 1st. I can't believe I'm in week 3. I feel > > > great. Guest guest
I like vitaglo alot. I buy protein powder form them. I get hthe big bers form GNC if I'm in the mall and need to eat. Keeps me out of the food court. And the smaller bars at Wal-Mart are just half size, so the nutrient info is half of what the big bers are. That's why sometimes I get two small bars to eat. > > > > Hi , > > > > > > > > Yes, I started on March 1st. I can't believe I'm in week 3. I > feel > > > > great. I'm not entering into the contest.
