They kept me overnight I think due to the late surgery time and maybe my advanced years. I would ask about it becuase i woke up in recovery at about 8 30pm and went home at 9 10 pm........ I am 46 y.o. Find out why you were kept over night but i dont think the " late suregery " has to do with it...... My surgery started not long after 4pm.... i went into recovery at 6 30......but due to drug reaction, was given bendryl therefore woke up later than norm. I am glad all went well with you! Guest guest
Carol, I am so happy you came through the surgery so well and seem to be recovering nicely. Please do get lots of rest as many people feel worse the 2nd or 3rd day than they do right after surgery. It is U of MI policy to keep their patients overnight and not your advanced years that kept you there.<smiles> Everyone in our family had to stay and we all had the pressure bandage taken off before we left the hospital... What a relief that was. Dr. Telian is an excellent surgeon and a super fellow isn't he? Times have changed since I had my surgery 2 years ago.. At that time Dr Telian was doing the long incision but I was able to go to my family dr and have my sutures removed. Here's hoping the recovery period continues to go smoothly. Jan. 13 eh? My oldest sisters birthday so it should be a great day! I also had to initial mapping 2 days in a row. Looking forward to hearing more from you. Take Care and have a special holiday. Hugs, Silly I am so glad Ruth was able to come in and check on you. She is indeed a very special lady. Guest guest
Good Morning, Carol. I'm so glad you let us know that your surgery is over and you are doing fine. I'm sorry you felt so dry but I know they have us fast for a reason which protects us all. I guess the old saying is " no pain, no gain " and in this case you have so much to gain. Hopefully, your tinnitus will soon pass. A lot has happened since we met in the chat room that Wednesday night. It seems as if it has gone by so quickly but probably not to youl Now it's time to be pampered and cared for. Take advantage of it and let everyone wait on you. Sit back and be warm and cozy in your most comfortable chair. Read good books or watch the nice holiday programs that are on tv. You earned this right. Next year is going to be one you won't forget. That January 13th date will be long remembered as another special day in your life and you will probably celebrate it in much the same way you do a birthday or an anniversary. I wish you the very best as you enter into this part of your CI Journey. In the meantime, let everything heal while you rest and relax. The hard part is done. Congratulations!
