I lost inches by exercising my butt off! I work out every day at Curves and I ride my bike as much as possible. I also work out on a balance ball and with free weights. I have worked for every single pound and every single inch I have lost.

Wow Jennie!

You look great!!! Even one month made a huge difference in your

appearance! Sorry to hear about your arm. I hope you recover very

quickly. I think the walking will still work for you--anyway it

does for me. We don't have a Curves anywhere near here.

Best wishes for a great finish to your summer!

Jenni, that is so great. You are an inspiration to me and all you bandsters that have succeeded with the journey. I can't wait to be were you guys are now and to feel the way you feel. Thanks, giftedtch <giftedtch@...> wrote: I just posted my 5th month comparison in the photo section for anyone who is interested. This has been an incredible journey. My original goal was to lose 40 pounds by mid-July but I surpassed

that goal with little problems. I have had weeks of short-term plateaus but, for the most part, my weight loss has been remarkable. My band and I don't always get along...I've experienced the dreaded sliming and the even-worse PBing when I try to ignore my band so she keeps me on track most of the time. Sometimes she gets a little irritating because she refuses to let any solid food in but I am figuring out her pattern and am learning to try to work with her and come up with some sort of compromise. Overall, though, she is my BEST friend in the whole world! Everything just has to be done her way or she gets mad! :)If someone had told me one year ago that I would be where I am today, I wouldn't have believed them. I had pretty much resolved myself to the fact that I was going to live life as an obese person...you know, sitting back and watching others live...just an observer. Well, I refuse to let that happen

anymore. Let me tell you about my summer!!I have traveled alot. I have gone from San Diego in May, New York in June, Washington D.C. in June (twice), Orange Beach, Alabama in July, Callaway Gardens (Georgia) in July, and Athens, Georgia in July. I have ridden horses, gone canoeing and kayaking (YES, in a boat!!!), swimming, to a water park (and did the slides for the first time!!!), hiking, hiking, and more hiking, and I have had the time of my life!!! My youngest son said it all...he said, "You would have never done this 60 pounds ago, Mom! Isn't it fun???" Through it all, I think what I have enjoyed the most is being outside. Before I lost all this weight, it was just too damn hot. Now, it doesn't bother me and living along the Gulf Coast is a scorcher! I get outside around 7:00 in the morning and, many days, I am outside until 9:00 at night (I manage our neighborhood swim club). I walk in the heat of the day and

I am so thankful that I am able to get out there and do it that I basically ignore the heat. I could go on and on and on about how wonderful this journey has been for me but you would probably get bored. I will tell those of you thinking about doing this procedure, that unless you are willing for your entire life to change, don't do it. Unless you are willing to spend your hard-earned cash for clothes that you need along the way, don't do it. Unless you are willing to get up every morning and see a new face in the mirror, don't do it. Unless you are ready to share your joy through a new-found positive attitude, then, don't do it. Unless you are ready for a NEW YOU, DON'T DO IT! Because all of these things just scratch the surface! Everything changes...the outside AND the inside.
