Guest guest
Hello, first things first 20lbs is EXCELLENT for four weeks!!!! Please take time to enjoy that victory. Second, most of the weight we first lose is water weight, it's the fastest weight that comes off and then starts the real journey. Another thing to consider, is never to compare yourself to others on this site, I've learned that we all have different body types and those whoe are heavier such as in my case I started around 360lbs now down around 317 or whatever now cause I haven't been on a scale for a couple of weeks, I lost quite a bit but then it was alot of water weight believe me I am no longer bloated. Now, I think I am just at the point where it's going to be a bit tougher. You're doing a great job, don't sell your loss short and keep with the program. Sometimes the body knows when to slow down so it doesnt go into some kinda of shock. Just remember this is the beginning of a journey for you, and after a few fills you'll be so happy you'll forget about the tough times. I know for myself I wake up some mornings thinking, will my big fat belly be gone today...and then poof there it still is but in smaller form...lol. It's kinda cool watching it shrink slowly Anyways, my blabbering is coming to this point, you are doing an excellent job, keep up the great work and give your body sometime to readjust to the band. You'll be happy that your weight is coming off slowly so you wont have to contend with alot of stretched out skin like alot of the RNY's have....there will be some but I dont think nearly as bad as those with gastric bypass. Don't worry.....Be Happy!!! Kelli >> Hello All> I usually dont write much, but today need guidance.. > I am right at four weeks post-op and have lost nothing in about two weeks. I am at a total of 20 pounds since Feb 4 and approx 20 inches down, but at a complete stand still. I know I have cut my food intake by 99 %. What could be wrong or going on??> How does a fill make a difference? > Please advise!!!> PS It is so touching how supportive this group truly is!!>

Guest guest
Hi: I think that if you have cut your intake of food by 99% then you are probably not getting enough calories. Per personal experience if I cut my intake to less than 1200 calories a day for more than 5 or 6 days, my weight loss will stall. My body goes into starvation mode and saves every tiny tiny calories I am consuming and the scale does't move. Are you getting enough calories? Are you eating enough fiber? Do you keep a diary of food and their caloric value? Are you eating your proteins first? HOpe this helps, Celia > > Hello All > I usually dont write much, but today need guidance.. > I am right at four weeks post-op and have lost nothing in about two weeks. Guest guest
I weighed yesterday and have lost two more pounds. I am LOSING inches rapidly, just not pounds... Nina said on Wednesday I can have chicken, so maybe I will I will get in a few calories. I am just soooooo sick of the mushies that honestly-no I haven't eaten much and taken in 200-300 calories only per day. I am sure you are right on about the starvation mode. What stage are you on?
