Guest guest
Congats on the baby! I just had a doctor visit w/ my obgyn and she assured me that " if " you become pregnant before the year or two after the MGB it's not the end of the world. I say this because I am really being " careful. " I was really worried about it. She said you might not gain any weight w/ the pregnancy and your arms, legs and hips will continue to get smaller, while your belly gets bigger. She just delivered a healthy baby from a lady who got pregnant 2 months after having gastric by-pass. She assured me that as long as you get enough nutrition and take your vits. everything should be just fine. I know you didn't ask for all this info. ...maybe it will comfort you in some way. I hope to get pregnant after the first 1- 1 1/2 years. ~ Pregnant Hi everybody, It has been a really long time since I have posted. Summer has been keeping busy. I had srgery on January 9 of 2003. I have since lost 97.5 pounds. But, at 7 months out we,( my husband and I) had an oops! Now we are expecting our third child in April. We weren't planning on trying until December, well looks like we got Christmas in July. Anyways, I was ust wondering if there were any helpful suggestions from people who have had mgb babies, I think I remeber reading about someone who got pregnant at 7 months out. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks Eckhardt 1-9-03 306 208.5 Dr. H Joplin _________________________________________________________________ Use custom emotions -- try MSN Messenger 6.0! http://www.msnmessenger-download.com/tracking/reach_emoticon
Guest guest
I got pregnant 3 months after my MGB surgery, OOPS I continued to lose weight and lost a total of 45 pounds throughout my pregnancy. I had my baby boy on July 10. He weighed 8 pounds and very healthy! I didn't have any problems, had to stop all my vitamins, per my OB, only took one pre-natal vitamin a day. Everything went great. I started taking my vitamins and supplements as soon as I got home from the hospital and went to my primary care doctor a month after my delivery and blood work is fine. Good luck with your pregnancy and delivery, everything will be fine!! Dana Dr. R 7/16/02 376-

Guest guest
You need to ensure that you see a good endocrinologist as soon as possible Anja. Congratulations on your pregnancy. Howeverk, do read the following http://www.thyroid-info.com/articles/pregnancy.htm http://www.medicinenet.com/hypothyroidism_during_pregnancy/article.htm http://thyroid.about.com/od/hormonepregnantmenopause1/a/dosechange.htm Luv - Sheila I am pregnant. Not sure whether I should be : ) or : ( as we were supposed to hold off for a while until all the bloods had come back and the meds started to do their job. I am not sure how to feel, I am so scared of a miscarriage or other complications. I have the high-ish antibodies (56 with a max of <=50) and my TSH was 2.7 (0.35 - 4.5) _,___
Guest guest
Hi angel, TSH of 1.0- is where healthy folk with healthy thyroids are- this levels does work too for folk who do well on T4 only, but if you need a T3 containing med then TSH will usually be below 1.0 or close to zero, because that is the effect that sufficient T3 has on TSH production. thyroid treatment From: angel47572000@...Date: Tue, 23 Nov 2010 12:47:32 +0000Subject: Pregnant Hi Anja, try to get the TSH to about 1.0 and keep it their. also take selenium to help this process. Guest guest
I just want to encourage you. I had been hypothyroid and on levothyroxine for 3 years (picked up after the birth of my second child) when I was delighted to discover that I was pregnant again at the grand old age of 44! , a very healthy boy was born when I was 45. All things are possible. I was carefully monitered by my GP throughout the pregnancy (TSH and T4 tested every couple of months, but I think this was because I was so anxious!), and I increased from 125 to 150 mg of thyroxine in the course of the pregnancy. I've in the last couple of years gone down hill and started needing T3 as well, and lots of advice and support from this list, but I just want to encourage you that during my pregnancy my thyroid caused no problems whatsoever!! Good luck! Sue > > Dear all, > > I am pregnant.
