Closer to Mini Goal #3 (LONG)

I am very excited to see that I have now made a 145lb

loss, all with

just one fill. :) I am now wearing 16/18 shirts and close to same in

pants...though I still have my 22's. I am slowly giving up my 26/28

clothes, it's been tough cause they've been a part of me for such a

long time but it's a great feeling to hear co-workers tell me, " I

think it's time for you to go shopping, we don't want to see your

pant down around your ankles! " So, this weekend (I get Sun/Mon off

so that's my weekend) I'll be going to Walmart to pick up some pants

that " fit. " I am tipping the scales at 225lbs w/ AF pending on

arrival sometime this week. I can say the journey has been

interesting, sometimes distressing but in the end joyful.

Those of you getting prepared for surgery, you're going to go

through alot of emotions, be prepared and be ready to deal with

them. Depression is on factor that happens to alot of WLS patients,

because our buddy " food " has taken on a whole new perspective. Just

be patient, and allow yourself to go through the motions. I don't

regret getting the band at all, please know that!!! I just know that

as you lose the weight, hormones DO CHANGE...so just be aware of it.

I love seeing myself as a new person each day, and I relish in the

compliments when people see old pictures of me and go " NO FREAKING

WAY!!! THAT IS NOT YOU!!! " I showed some co-workers my picture from

graduation at Univ, when I was tipping the scales at 370lbs and they

were just shocked. So, keep those old pictures around, do look at

them because it will help to boost your self-esteem, body image and

lift those blues right off of ya. :)

Anywho, I'll be going in for my second fill on October 7th! I hope

to FINALLY meet Nina!!! But if not, I will enjoy seeing Dr. Aceves,

, Ernesto and Yolanda. :) Take Care and I will be posting new

pictures as soon as my new camera comes in... I never thought I'd

see the day when I would want to take pictures...crazy!!

Kelli, I actually get to meet you face to face! I'm going for a fill on Oct. 7 as well. I wonder who else is going? I think I am probably going to have to drive a rental car from San Diego because the van is full unless someone ends up not needing a fill. I am flying into the area on Thursday for a mini-vacation and then flying home Sunday. I'll see you then! I cannot believe you have lost 145 pounds! That is truly amazing!!! WOW! Craig, I'll look forward to meeting both of you. It sounds like there will be several people from the message board there....that is kind of cool! Now, I can tell you....Nina is real! The first (and only) time I went for a fill, she drove the group to Mexicali. So, I feel very fortunate that I am one of the few who has actually met her in person. She is just as wonderful in person as the rest of the crew. They still amaze me! See you soon! Jenni CurrieCraig <ccarothers@...> wrote: Kelli, Jenni: This is Craig. Nina is real,

and I was really fortunate to have her as my coordinator (and still do!). She

waited with us for the entire time before surgery, during, and after and she

seemed to always be there to help translate (if needed). Nina’s the best!

Of course Nina is real. So is the Easter

Bunny, Santa Clause  and the Tooth Fairy, as are  other heroic people that do

real good without ever being seen by mortals J Please don’t respond

to this. It’s an inside joke.
