Bob,

What is this in reference to specifically? It IS easy to go

overbaord on sharing what we think is valid information. This is what

we ran into with one lister. I think its agreed that when it comes to

the techie aspects of the CI, its best to share links TO that info and

stick with personal experiences. And we all must make sure that

others know this. Not an easy task.

Dear and all.

I realize that my post was a bit ambiguos in specificity - as my

comments were in reference to posts on another list.

It involved a misleading and incorrect statement, presented as fact

as clipped;

" People with cochlear implant can't have an MRI too because it maps

out the stuff. "

Your philosophy on sharing links is wise unless the writer has

undertaken research on a topic and has a reliable track record in

reporting accuracy on technical and medical issues.

Misinformation is worse than no information.

Problem with that is, who IS reliable? We had a lister who posted

TONS of his research but he was not yet a CI candidate. TMI. Too

Much Information. We also have had, probably still do, professionals

here. I think all we can do to counter the misinformation is direct

people to the sources which are the companies and their websites. And

of course, its always good to suggest going to one's CI clinic, audie,

or surgeon for specific information.
