Guest guest
lisa, i am not blind but i always turn on my 3G bye feel. i put it on my ear and then i turn it on by feeling the wheel and then i can feel if its a low setting or high setting. i can also switch to the second program on the 3g just by feel and also the microphone, Telephone and whisper settings. these last three are alittle confusing to the touch as they are rather close to each other but u get used to that quickly. i think similar with hearing aid, i would turn on and adjust volume and t switch just by feel . i think we all do that because no one can see thier hearing aid or bte when its on their ear. robert is right. they designed the 3 G to be worn on the left ear, and dont make a " right ear " 3 G but my 3 G is on my right ear so all the controls are next to the skin , as opposed to the outside for easy reach. but its not a signifcant problem , and im still glad that i chose my right ear. there is no way i am going to be taking off my ci every time i need to make a change in vlume etc during the day. i only take it off to change the batteries ( every five days) or to go to sleep, or to shower.. you cud learn to do change batteries easily by feel as the side with t he battery is also the side where the head (magnet ) coli is attached to. hope this helps and cannot wait to hear how your ci experience will be. joni
Guest guest
I do alot of deletes and sometimes open one for the heck of it.. and this one I did. I have my 3g on my left ear and when I read this I checked... nope... the controls are next to my skin. If it was on my right ear (I just did that to check) it would be easier to move the program level and the W M T switch. So I guess mine was made for the right ear susan & hobbes michigan >robert is right. they designed the 3 G to be worn on the left ear, and dont >make a " right ear " 3 G but my 3 G is on my right ear so all the controls >are next to the skin , as opposed to the outside for easy reach. but its not >a signifcant problem , and im still glad that i chose my right ear. > > >joni
Guest guest
I delete a lot, also. i never thoyght as the 3G being designed for left sided use. i have not roublewith the controls on the right. I do wish there was some beep to indicate what level the dial was on. The only problem I ever have is when i want to plug in a microphone or attachment. i do take the processor off but somehow it always takes a few tries. I think that would be more difficult for someone with vision problems. Steinerman
Guest guest
, What I do is when I pick up the plug, I put my finger on the side with the round connector (we dont normally use this) and hold it in such a way it faces to the back. Then I hold the 3G with my other hand and plug it in. Its kind of awkward but I have dine it many times and am still turned on so I dont miss much. After all is plugged in, I switch off then on again. *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* Early to rise and early to bed & Gimlet (Guide Dawggie) Portland, Oregon N24C 3G 8/2000 Hookup rlclark77@... http://home.comcast.net/~rlclark77/
Guest guest
and all. Anything that is yours or anything you use it daily/often, you would know where is the program/buttons/settings located at. When you get familiar with, you dont even need to look at it. Cuz when you touch or feel the same thing over again and again, you'd recognize what this button is for and you'd recognize like where is the volume setting, PLAY button, those 1,2,3 # on a remote control, and etc. No one know for sure where is the program/buttons/settings located at when they first purchased electronic or others because you would need to do it daily/practice so you can get familiar with it and eventually you'll have no problem to find what you're looking for without looking at it. Like at night, there's no light at all and sometimes I'd need to adjust time to wake up. I know which button to use in the dark. Do you know what I mean? Like a couple of the ci users mentioned that they have 3g and it's easy to use, in order to make that easy/simple to use, you'd have to be familiar with 3g first like where is the volume, whisper mode, t-coil setting, and such. Same goes with Advanced Bionics and Medel. If it has more buttons/settings, it may or may not take a more practice/to get familiar with. But the point is, whether it has more buttons or not, it's not that hard to get familiar with because you'll always get there! It's only a little practice (; Hope this make sense!
