The Purpose of CI Hear

I think it's time to revisit some of the things we have discussed in the last

few days so that we can all understand why we are here. As an open list, we do

see a variety of topics but this past week has been the busiest ever and we have

discussed issues that have stepped outside of the norm for our group.

We are a support group for people interested in learning about CI's and learning

how to use what we have. We are pro-ci in every sense of the word. Our goals

are to bring information about this miracle - and it is a miracle - to as many

people as we can because we know how great the technology is and how much it can

change an individuals life for the better.

What are our most current goals. Well.. as of this week.. we made a decision to

work toward the media. We have a project in mind. There seem to be two options

open to us - either CNN or Oprah. To some of you, this may seem to be a bit

extreme, but in reality, without these wild dreams, we have no where to begin.

We may never reach either of these two shows but we each certainly can do

something locally. Every one on this list can contact their local media and

request to have a human interest story done in the newspaper or even on TV if

you are brave enough. I have done both and found it to be very rewarding.

Newspapers especially are always looking for good stories about local people

that would interest their readers.

This group is pro-ci. If there are some here who have joined with contrary

opinions, you are not on the right list and certainly there are lists out there

for you. If not..you might want to start one. With this in mind - I am going

to ask that we return to the purpose of the group and that is per the main page

will be changed to moderated. Our goal is to be a good mix of friends because we

share a common interest and want to learn from each other. We do reserve the

right to edit any posts. The content of the posts aren't necessarily the

opinions of the list owner or list moderators. "

I will be asking the moderators to begin enforcing the list rules. We will

treat everyone with respect and provide you with assistance but we will expect

you to do the same.

I respect your rules, but the reality is that many of the questions that

I have regarding CI's will likely lead to discussions that will violate

them. Also, I do not believe in lists that allow the editing or

deletion of posts. Therefore, I'm unsubscribing.

I appreciate all the information I've gained.

Hi Brad,

I hope you stay. It's always good to see both side of the things, the pros

and the cons. A group is useless if everyone thinks the same. I for one

would appreciate people correcting me when I have faults or wrong

information in-hand.

I no longer bother replying to the non-believers, Or the glass is

half empty crowd. Its their right to live in silence, or worse not

understanding what a person says. I chose not to, and I am loving

every minute of it.. It's still not perfect but what in life is??
