Guest guest
Hi Debby, You stop it....remember that inside there is a swelling and you are healing. You have done so well and you need to be proud of yourself. I remember reading that the weightloss thing doesn't start until after you are eating foods and are healed. Please keep your chin up....you know that one day you will step on the scale and see a drop. Glad to hear you are feeling great, I am too, but when I do things for a while I sure get tired....almost like a flower wilting. Do you or are you full of energy? My stomach is still healing and the swelling seems larger or more noticable around the port area...I think it feels like a tennis ball and at times it reminds me of the movies that aliens come out of the skin..hahahahah. You keep your chin up.....forget the weightloss now, don't even go on the scales for another weight. Keep in touch, I have been thinking about you and Deb all weight. What a great experience...Jody still nothing Well, it's been 1 week of clear liquids and still not a ounce lost. I can't tell you how disappointed and depressed this has made me. It seems that everyone who has had a difficult time with the surgery with side effects like nausea, BPing loses the weight. Could it be possible I am drinking too much liquids? I don't think so. I feel so well physically, but emotionally this has me so depressed. Is it possible that the band will not work for me? I understand all the logic about my body being in starvation mode but it should have adjusted by now and I should see at least a pound or two come off. I feel like a failure.....again. Guest guest
Hi Jody, Thanks for the encouraging words. Yes, I do get a little tired but other then that I am feeling very good physically. I've started short walks at night when it cools off too. The hunger has set in and I could chew my arm off I'm so hungry so it's been difficult doing this starving thing and not losing weight. I just can't believe nothing has come off. I know it shouldn't be important what the scale says right now, but we all know that we want to see it move. Each day I get on the scale praying it will move and each day nothing happens. I would be so happy with just a pound! I'm glad to hear you are feeling good too. Deb H, how are you feeling? Guest guest
I had surgery on August 6. I feel like I have energy at first, guess because I lost a little weight. But I too feel tired after I walk for a little while. Will the energy return, is there something we can do to help this feeling go away some? Is it the lack of food doing this? Thanks, Deborah F. >
Guest guest
Hey Debby, I've been just getting weaker, I'm hoping when we start on full liquids I can get some of my strength back...as for you ....your doing all the right things..it will happen...I know not seeing results is frustrating...but the body will have to kick in soon....it may take a little while but it will be permenate, remember that!....love you and keep up the good work with your walking Deb"Debby B." <Debby32901@...> wrote: Hi Jody, Thanks for the encouraging words. Guest guest
So far no change, but my monthly friend is visiting, so that might be making it even harder on me. And I am very moody, think this is because of the lack of food, hope my family understands, I am constantly appologizing. I could not stand the taste of the isopure. Guest guest
Remember that some people loose inches before weight, have you tried measuring yourself to see? Deborah F. Guest guest
Debby, You need to throw that scale away, and stop getting on it every day. Please do this for your self, I was a slow looser at the start I can swear I even gained 5 lbs after dropping ten, when I saw the scale go up, I stopped right there and did not touch the scale until I went in for my first fill, and in that six weeks I lost 15 lbs, it is not as much as some have done, but everyone is different, the weight will eventually come off. and you say you are walking well there you go, I bet you are building muscle at the same time you are loosing fat, and muscle weighs more then fat, so it could be just evening you out, right now, give it time, PUT THE SCALE AWAY, you are gonna loose inches faster then lbs, so when you start to notice your clothes getting looser then step on the scale, take care. Tracie B. Any body you is interested, I ate a 1/2 can of potato soup today, no pain, and 5 or 6 bites of mash potatoes no pain, and last night a third of a bag of popcorn and some pitashios, no pain. yea me

Guest guest
I am going to go along with what others have written and add: 1. You are only one week post op. Swelling internally, not to mention the retension of IV fluids is happening. Drink tons of water to flush it all out. 2. To stop your body from going into starvation mode, you must exercise, you're walking and that is great! Keep it up 3. Don't worry about weight loss right now, even if others are losing. The WORST thing you can do is compare yourself to others 4. You should be trying to get in at least 60 grams of protein which means lots of isopure. If you can't stand the taste, mix it with gatorade or crystal light just so you get that protein in. Protein will stop the weak feeling, the hunger pains, and also promote weight loss. 5. Don't worry!! Try to heal, the less stress you put on yourself, the better. 6. Have someone hide your scale and only let you get on it once a week. I know all of those rules are easier said then done, believe me, we have all been there. Yes, we like to see the scale moving and IT WILL. Please try and not compare yourself to others, you will lose at your own pace. I am sure you have heard it before and I will say it again, this is not a race. And if you don't listen to anything else, listen to this: THIS WILL WORK just give it some time.
