Guest guest
Happy Birthday!!!!! Good news on the lack of gain! High Five from California. and a big OUCH on the well. I take my city water for granted, until I hear about situations like yours. I am so sorry to hear that. I cannot imagine no water or the mess you have had to deal with. Hats off to you. I also understand the $$$$$ portion. We made considerably less last year because I cut back my daycare and Ed worked less OT. Hang in there and have a great holiday

Guest guest
Congrats on the lost whatever the amount. Don't worry about the slip they are bound to happen, we have been using food inappropriately for years, so to think that we can change that just by changing our mind is not realistic. Guest guest
I actually went up 2.5 pounds! Yuck! I'm not sure why either, because I didn't binge. There are only two things I can see as being the culprit; one, I ate a roll at a dinner buffet and the yeast was just a bad thing for me and the second would be that I dance about 3 hours and made some muscle really quickly. Neither one sounds good and so either way, it time to crack down again. We are going to be hosting a Japanese exchange student starting Wednesday and I may have a 3 week job teaching ESL to her and her classmates, so that should keep me busy. , you are in my prayers! Guest guest
Ann....you are doing awesome!!!! I think it says a lot that you didn't run to the fridge when stressed with hubby. That is a HUGE victory (at least for me since I've done that almost every night of my life for the past 10 yrs). Take your victories in every shape and form....the scale is just one of many ways to show success. Inches lost another, not running to fridge another, making it 10 more minutes into the workout another. You should be very proud of yourself! I know it seems overwhelming (boy do I know) and that's what's kept me from falling off the wagon this past year, it seems like there is soooo much weight to lose and it's hard to focus on the smaller numbers/victories when you get them because you see the mountain in front of you, focus on the now.....on just today....set your small goals for the day and *when* not if, you get through them, go to bed proud of yourself and know you can do it again tomorrow! Congrats on the loss and show of willpower! You can do it! SW 296 CW 293 MGW 250 FGW 165 -----Original Message----- >Hi, > >I lost a pound this week and I have to admit I'm pretty disappointed. Guest guest
> I lost a pound this week and I have to admit I'm pretty disappointed. Don't look at the scale! Our bodies usually do that early in a weight loss plan, trying to catch up to the new changes we're putting it through, epecially if you just started all that walking. You're most likely building muscle to replace fat, and muscle weighs more than fat. Take your measurements, instead, and go by that, and how you *feel*, not what the scale says. >One success is > that last night my husband was being a total jerk and I didn't head to the > refrigerator like I usually do. See, learning new habits already. How many calories would I burn if I > strangled him? hee hee. Not enough to make it worthwhile. Better hold on to him a bit longer. Guest guest
> San but I lost 2 pounds! Yippee! I'm very relieved. We walked for See, is right - we can eat almost *any* foods we love as long as we exercise them off! Congrats on having a good time and losing weight on top of it. >There is no darn way I can stand > up to cheesecake in my fridge. I'm not a sweets eater but I *do* love cheesecake! Unfortunately, we're about to get a cheesecake store right here in our city. Luckily parking is atrocious, especially where this place is opening, so I won't be tempted to go there except for the rare treat for hubby. BUT, if they sell a low sugar version, I'm sunk! LOL > Seaworld was pretty empty on Sun. As kids, we used to go to Coney Island Aquarium every Easter morning. My dad would take the 3 of us so my mom could get dinner for the gang started (we fed the entire family tree - about 20 people). We would practically have the place to ourselves until around 1pm, but that was about the time we had to head home, anyway. I tried to maintaint hat tradition with my own kid, but 5 minutes after we got there he begged to go home. We did it for 3 years with the same results, so we just gave up after that. > stuffed my fat ass into the seat and had a fabulous time. There's a whole book out, I think, about what rides are size friendly in Disney's attractions. Some day I hope to finally get to go there, even if all I do is roam around Toon Town like a kid and keep an eye out for Mickey so I can get my picture taken with him - a lifelong dream. OK, so I actually *knew* some castmembers who wore the outfit and one guy in our apartment complex actually offered to bring his suit home some day and get that picture taken, but it's not the same. I told him I *have* to be in the park itself. Too bad he never offered to sneak me in for free. It's nice to be > back home to my own bed and regular life though. Really? My dh really wants to take the kids to Disneyworld. My little one is 2.5 so we'll wait a couple more years. I would ****really**** like to not have to worry about getting the book on rides for fat people! I want to walk into Disneyworld at 150 and be a normal sized person. Ahhhhh..... Nice that they have a book like that though. I can't wait to be a normal sized person! So when are you going to Disney. If it's a lifelong dream then you have to go. I can't wait to be a normal sized > person! > Ann, I know exactly how you feel! Two years ago I took my son to a huge amusement park and I could not fit on the rides. Except for a few that had large bench seats, and these were not the fun rides, I had to watch my Hubby have all the fun. Well, this last August I took my son back to the amusement park all by myself and I fit in every ride. I think I had a better time than my son! It was such a blast to be a " normal " person and never worry about being embarrassed. I would find myself grinning from pure joy that day and I am keeping that feeling tucked in my heart so I never forget how miserable I was before I lost weight. Guest guest
> So when are you going to Disney. If it's a lifelong dream then you have to > go. Is that your goal weight reward? It's a matter of finances. We *lived* only 10 minutes away from it, hubby worked in Disney Celebration's shopping area, we were surrounded by tourists and Disney Castmembers everywhere we went, yet we couldn't afford the $50 each to get in, not when the average job there paid minimum wage - $5.15/hr. That's the reason we came back to Jersey, to get decent paying jobs. My dad and stepmom still live down in Kissmmee, so one of these days, when the kid's college bills are paid off and we finally have a house of our own again, AND have a few dollars in the bank, we'll get down there again. It's going to be a long, long time though. The closest I'm gonna get to Disney now is the Disney store in our local mall.
