Hi All, Sorry I haven't been on the internet but had some urgent things to take care of. Surgery was on Thursday (6/21). Everything went well. Dr. Aceves had to tackle some adhesions from my gall bladder operation 30 years ago but otherwise all went well. I was checking out my incisions/brusing and I asked my husband to look because it seemed something was missing. Sure enough! I had a huge mole and they took it! Everything is going fine as far as the surgery goes. The brusing and such gets better every day.

I actually have a little bit of itching starting so I know healing is going on. No temperature, mild discomfort. I know that some go right back to work but I don't think I would have felt much like it. Good thing I am retired! Oh, for you newbies...remember that you are only taking in liquids so...you will only be sending out liquids! We had a couple of pretty major things happen the weekend before my surgery was scheduled. As a matter of fact, we almost postponed it. On Friday, my sixteen year old son was served by the Sheriff. Actually, I was served because wasn't home at the time. Anyway, his girlfriends mom charged him with Harassment and

Stalking. The whole thing comes down to the fact that she feels she ruined her life getting pregnant young and having to get married sooooooooooooo....she doesn't want her daughter to repeat her mistakes. She flat out refuses to let her have a boyfriend. and have been seeing each other for almost two years. This lady is blind if she thinks broke-up with . She was comming over here 3/4times a week after her mom went to work. hasn't seen her since the court order but they talk daily. To bad her mother doesn't understand that the harder she pushes to not see ...the more she wants to be with him. On Saturday my daughter's car got run over in the parking lot of a 7/11. Fortunately, no one was in side. She has just started her third round of

Chemo and is feeling pretty sick to her stomach and tired all the time. So between trying to be a true bandster, prepare paperwork for the court hearing on Friday, serve 's mother with a response, file documents in court, deal with 2 insurance companies, look for a car for my daughter.......I have been exhausted. Problem..........what do you recommed to do about my blood sugar???? I haven't taken any of my diabetic medicine since surgery. My blood sugar right now is 78 which is too low. Soon I will be able to go to full liquids. My neighbor has been coming everyday and giving me my shot of Lovenox. Tomorrow will be my last shot and then on Friday I will go to Kaiser and have my regularly scheduled Protine test. I will start back on the Warfarn on Friday. I am anxious to see what the scale says and since I don't have one at home I will get weighed on Friday when I go have my blood test. Well, that is about it for now. I have missed having my fingers on the keyboard. joy4jane66 BMI 66.9 DOB 6/21/07 Current - I won't tell! Goal #1 -50lbs. It is so good to hear from you! Life has been a whirlwind for you since getting home! Are you finding time to relax??? I had the same problem with my blood sugar at the beginning. I drank either a small glass of gatorade or apple juice during the clear liquid stage. On full liquids, a small glass or orange juice worked as well. Another thing I did was to open a can of, say, pineapples, and drink the juice from that. It was clear liquid and had a enough natural sugar to give my blood sugar the boost it needed. Maybe something like that will work for you. Keep in touch. JenniJane Moss <joy4jane66@...> wrote: Hi All, Sorry I haven't been on the internet but had some urgent things to take care of. Jane,

I think all of us would have been as sad as you if the surgery date wouldn't have worked out. I'm so sorry for all the other stress around you but so excited that the surgery is done and you are on your way to feeling good. How did it go post-op w/needing to walk and the ankle injury? How's the gas? Did you have any issues w/the scooter and traveling etc?? I hope all is going to settle down in your house soon!

Take care!

Jenni, I am so glad that you are doing better. Thanks for your advice. I forgot I could have apple juice. Normally I do not drink juice...haven't since I became a diabetic. I suppose if I drink just a small amount it would raise my sugar enough that I wouldn't be worried about it. joy4jane66 BMI 66.9 DOB 6/21/07 Current - I won't tell! Goal - #1 -50lbs. Hi Cyrena, Actually I cheat walked! I got on my scooter, gave it just enough power that I could move it and walked with my feet! I was moving and that is what counts. My knees are so band that I really can't stand for more than a minute or two. My neighbor that comes to give me my shot everyday says she thinks that I am moving around a lot better. My husband has been taking our grandsons in the pool most every afternoon and I shocked them all my walking out to the pool and sitting down to watch them play. My ankle is better but still hurts when I am on it very long. When I sit at the computer by ankles and

feet swell and that seems to make it hurt more. Well, it has been a week now and I would sure like to move on to full liquids. One more week to go. Thanks for all of your love and concern....... Jane,

Very creative walking, good job for thinking of something creative like that instead of saying "well, I can't walk so that is that" I would have totally used the excuse and not done it! :) You are doing GREAT!! Hang in there on the liquids and best of luck!

I didn't drink juice before my banding and only did it in small quantities to raise my blood sugar. My dad is a serious diabetic and that was his suggestion. It worked well for me but just don't over do it. Glad to hear you have made it through week one! That is fantastic. Keep on walking like you are and pretty soon you will be able to walk even better!
