Guest guest
Some of us ate just melon all weekend. I cracked one open last night. I couldn't stop eating it. It was red and juicy and incredible. Watermelon is my junk food and I plan to indulge every chance I get this summer!!! Gloria
Guest guest
I tried romaine lettuce and apples whizzed together and did not like the sensation of drinking lettuce. Gayla...did you just put them in the blender or actually juice them? I juice romaine with apples or other veggies. I like it. Just different from eating it. My watermelon is so juicy that all the juice accumulates in the container it's in (I cut it up into cubes and keep it in the fridge). I eat it and then lap up the juice which is really good. Great for the kidneys. Buying another one at the farmer's market tomorrow. Gloria
Guest guest
Why oh why would you add sugar to watermelon lemonade? I like limeade better. Put chunks in the blender with lime and whirl. Better yet, take half the melon in the backyard with a spoon and have at it! Some of us ate just melon all weekend. Shari
Guest guest
In the extreme heat we have been having, I have almost lived on watermelon. Watermelon and cold water. Like a juice fast without effort! I love the crunch - I don't know if I would like it juiced. I tried romaine lettuce and apples whizzed together and did not like the sensation of drinking lettuce. Better that crunch to me. Watermelon was on sale last week at a local store for -- get this -- 9 cents a pound!!! I kid you not. I ate a LOT of yummy watermelon for a whole week. Didn't even think of juicing it though...watermelon lemonade does sound very good. Peace on earth. Guest guest
No, I didn't juice them, just threw them in the blender. Ugh! That sound terrible, Gayla!!! LOL! Romaine and apple JUICE is actually pretty good, but not romaine and apple slush! Gloria
Guest guest
My new favorite is: 2 cups water 1/2 head romaine 2 cups blueberries (about, I just throw them in) 2 bananas Put in VitaMix and liquify. It is VERY good. I'm enjoying green smoothies very much. Have been for quite sometime, but I've hit some clinkers. Like papaya and kale, not enough flavor to cover the kale. Someone just told me women should eat minimum 1 head of romaine or the equivalent per day to get our minerals. Men, 2. Don't know about you, but a head of lettuce chewing is not my style. I like to drink them! Shari
