Guest guest
Ya. I guess you have a point...this should make you feel good, or maybe better....i was banded december 5 2006 and have only lost 18lbs......not cool i throw up all the time and have had 2 fills. i am at 2.4cc and i cannot eat until like 2pm everyday. I can only eat soup and that gets to be a pain. I can eat late at night ...things like ...salmon loks. and cream cheese. hmmm ice cream always goes down...not a good thing because I find i am eating it regularly out of starvation and comfort. I have lost inches.....the doctor who does my fills says that my body is reshaping itself...well i wish it would hurry up and start losing the weight. i am trying to find another fill doctor here in portland oregon who uses floro. anyway that is my issue..... dawn <dawn9368@...> wroote: well ya 30 pounds, but 15 of it was pre op diet, 12 of it was post op diet, and maybe 2 since fill. which was done the end of april which makes this not so good. Guest guest
Trina, In my opinion (though that probably means it is worth nothing), I think you sound too tight. If you haven't lost more weight than that, if you are throwing up alot, and if you can't get in any solid fills, go get unfilled! You have plenty of saline in your band so that taking some out will be of great benefit. You cannot live like you are at this point. Remember Dr. Aceves talks about " quality life " ....you don't have it at this point. You would feel much better and probably even see more results if you were not so tight. May I ask what size band you have? Jenni Currie DOB 2/23/06 247/146/145 4 fills 2 unfills ..not cool i throw up all the time and have had 2 fills. i am at 2.4cc and i cannot eat until like 2pm everyday. Guest guest
Dawn, Hi there. Are you the Dawn who's hubby is in the military? Are you keeping track of your calorie intake? this is so important to do! Because I think alot of people slack off on that and they tend to overdo the calories big time. Also your body will go through platues too. And if you arent working out, step it up! this will help you burn more cals and also help your body to reshape itself. But hang in there, because if you are doing everything right, it is just a stupid plateu. Mine is coming off slow and steady, but I do have weeks that I dont loose. But the average for someone doing all the right things is 2 lbs a week. and that has been my average. And do you know the crazy thing about our bodies too? is that one week you can go by the book and do everything right and you wont loose and then the next week you will cheat and not do your best and you will release like 5 lbs. so, some of it is just up to your body! Hang in there girl, you are doing well! :-) keep us posted on your progress! :-) hugs, Dob 10/6/06 (342)322/254/160 i dont know what it is , but im doing something wrong. Guest guest
I have the smaller band as well. I only have 1.75ccs in my band and that is even a little tight for my taste. Go get an unfill and I PROMISE you will feel better! Your body needs a break! You may gain back a few pounds but you cannot keep going like this....it could cause long-term problems that you don't want. Schedule that unfill, start eating solid foods, and keep us posted. Guest guest
You have to work for a bariatric surgeon before you can go to the classes. The bariatric surgeon has to send you and agree for you to work under his license, according to Don Mills from Inamed. > Second question...where/how does a person get certified to do lap-band > fills? what are the fees and requirements??? Guest guest
I'm relieved to see there's someone else out there like me, and thankful to the bandsters responses to Trina's post. I am having the same thing right now, but until your post I thought it was normal. It has been 10 days since my first fill (1.6 cc) and I only can handle liquids before 6 p.m. After 6 it is only mushies (mashed potatoes, watermelon, yogurt, soup), or maybe 1 oz. of fish and a brussel sprout. Anything more than three small bites of regular food feels like I'm trying to pass a baseball, followed by sliming, so I prefer to stick to mushies. Today I ate about 1/2 cup of clam chowder for lunch and have been spitting up saliva the past 30 minutes. It's gross. Eating to me is becoming a painful chore, I haven't been exercising due to lack of energy, and the scale is going up! I'm thinking I may have really irritated my pouch when I started solid food because I didn't know my limitations, overate, underchewed, slimed like crazy and PB'd. Going to try liquids for a while to see if that helps my situation any. Trina, please keep us updated on how you're doing!
