Hi Greg, Honestly, I never drank one isopure or any of the protein drinks after surgery!! I did just fine on apple, juice gatorade, ice tea & hot tea, and broth. The "soup base" powdered bullion is really good. Now, after my fills, I have a Whey protein powder/skim milk shake. One in the late morning & maybe in the evening too, not everyday, but most days. My restriction is very significant after fills and I get little protein from food for several weeks. So, I figure that is a great way to get some protein in during that time. My daughter drank Isopure for about 3 days, the 40gram bottles and it was awful she said. She drank it cause she was getting light-headed alot and it seemed to help her. So if you don't have it it won't kill you...I'm still kick'n :-) Congrats on the 20lbs!!! that's an awful lot in a week!! Dana

I've been drinking a couple of bottles of the Isopure clear liquid protein every day since I have been back home from the surgery, but honestly, I don't like the stuff. It's not that it tastes bad, it just leaves me feeling kind of blech after I drink half a bottle. It feels kind of like being full, only that bad kind of full when something nasty is just sitting in the bottom of your stomach and you know it's going to give you problems. The thing is, it never really gives me any problems. I figure I need the stuff just to get enough protein and nutrition, but if it weren't for that, I would probably just drink a little apple juice and drink some chicken broth.Greg P.ps;That pre-made chicken broth from the store is so bland that I take a bouillion cube and add it to the stuff. It doubles the calories from 17 to 34, but that's nothing with as little calories as I am getting.pps;I guess I am accidentally lo

sing a little weight though, 20 pounds in the first 7 days until I leveled of 2 days ago. Should be fine now that I'm leveled off.

I was told by my nutritionist today that Isopure will help to get protein in, but not to solely drink it because it contains little else as far as nutrition goes. I haven't tasted it ... does it come in different flavors?

Hi Greg

Isopure tastes nasty! That's why it just sits there. I still have

2 bottles of it in my closet from over a year ago! My daughter and

I tried everything to disguise the taste of manure (sorry...) but to

no avail!. I didn't drink any clear protein for the first 2 weeks

of clear liquid and am still here to tell about it! When you get to

full liquids you have a lot better choice. I really like the Atkins

Advantage drinks especialyy the real chocolaty one. Good luck to

you, Greg, and you are almost over the hump and ready for better

days ahead.

I've just started trying protein drinks and what not. I've found an

amazing one. It's called Syntrax Nectar. It comes in like 7 different

flavors. The fuzzy navel and strawberry kiwi are really good. I also

got lemon tea and caribbean cooler but i havent tried them yet. They

taste just like fruit juice. They aren't chalky and they dont have a

bad after taste. So if you are looking to get in the protein, give it

a try.

The protein shakes, apple juice, sugar free popsicles, and water are

about all I can stomach right now. Chicken broth I just cant even

seem to get down and jello I can take one or two bites of. It seems

to be something with my sense of smell. If I can smell it at all I

dont want it? Dont know what that is about. I am drinking the

chocolate Isopure and while they are not GREAT they are not bad

either. I put mine in the freezer for awhile before I drink them.

I am going to try to find some popsicle makers today to make some

apple juice popsicles.

Hello All:

I just wanted to share how I was able to drink the

ugly Isopure.. I would water it down and add lot's of

crushed ice until I finished the bottle.. This was the

only way I was able to drink it. I hope this helps

any of you.

I get it online. I know you can get it at 1nutrition.com and various

other websites. Don't pay more than $22 for it... some websites and

stores charge $40
