She has had 3 open heart surgeries and must be careful.

In that case, I wouldn't even mention the Ginger Bath to her! I know at work some of the older ladies with heart conditions can't sit under the hood hair dryer because of the potential problems caused by the high heat required to dry their hair. I would pass on the steaming hot ginger bath if I were your friend.... unless she is being monitored by a professional who knows exactly what they're doing.
