Guest guest Posted December 3, 2010 Report Share Posted December 3, 2010 I have had discharge for years which hasn't changed in texture, colour or anything. This afternoon I suddenly felt my ear pop and what felt like the roof of my canal 'shift'! My hearing has got worse and I can feel myself talk/breath through my ear. Sounds odd i know, and its really hard to explain!! Then the discharge just kind of gushed right down my neck, when I cleaned it up it was red blood that looked like it was mixed with the usual colour. Since then my discharge is a brown/reddish colour. I only have minimal pain in my jaw and slight 'creaking' sound in my ear. I have surgery planned on 14th January to try and find what they think is a cholesteatoma hidden in the ear canal. Any ideas what this new blood might mean?
