Guest guest
Well, tomorrow is my 6 month anniversary and I have never been happier! I started out at 235 and am now down to 145. I have lost a total of 40 inches. My waist has gone from a 42 to a 28. I am wearing size 8's and 10's and medium to small tops. I have a ton of energy and am working out 5 days a week. I am in the process of training for the River Bridge Run in ton, SC on April 5. It is a 6.2 mile run. I am so excited as I grew up in ton and see this as a huge milestone in my life. I am thrilled with my results and truly feel total freedom from my former food addiction. The surgery has given me my life back in so many ways. I feel blessed and thank God everyday for leading me to Dr. Rutledge and his staff. Warmly, Alisha Ackerman
Guest guest
Alisha- Way to go! Good luck on the 10K Run. I used to do those before I put on all the weight. The races were so much fun and good for you, too. Enjoy the race, pace yourself. Sounds like life is being good to you and you are living it to the fullest! Guest guest
Thank you Sandy! You and Dan have both been extremely helpful in my journey so far. Not to worry about the exercise or protein. I make sure I get at least 20 grams at the 3 major meals and if I snack, it is always high protein. As far as exercise, my husband is doing a good job at getting me outside each night to walk. Luckily, it's getting a little cooler at night so I don't mind it so much. > > > > Hello All! > > > > I am officially at the lowest weight that I have been at in 11 > > years! Guest guest
Thank you Tamster. 65#'s does make a big difference and knowing that it is going to stay off along with more makes my band journey even easier and sweeter! Thanks again. > //I've lost 64 pounds since having the surgery and I feel wonderful. > Each day is a new exciting day for me// >

Guest guest
Dear , It has been so nice to read your uplifting post. Congratulations on your road to a healthier self. I have been banded over a year and it has been one of the most amazing experiences i have had. My weight does not fluctuate more than 2 kg, like you I don't feel I am on any diet, i still enjoy my food but much less of it, i am at goal, have been at goal since january, and i only have 1.25cc in the lapband, and i am very conservative with fills since i don't want to put all the presure on the band and also i want to be able to eat reasonable portions and exercise more in order to burn extra calories. i have a very occasional barf episode and they tend to be of a mild nature. For the first time in my entire life i am able to keep my weight al goal without feeling i am dieting..isn't that great? Dr. London UK sep 2004 at goal since january 2005 total loss 33 kg --- " peacelily : " <Mila1013@...> escribió: --------------------------------- congrats emily 6 month anniversary Hello All! I am officially at the lowest weight that I have been at in 11 years! I am very excited about the weightloss I have had and wonderful experience I have had since getting the Band. It is an absolute miracle maker! I was born overweight (11 lbs to be exact- yes, I was the last for my mom). I can remember being in 4th grade and being on a strict diet ordered by my doctor. Like most, I've been on Craig, Weight Watchers, South Beach, Phen Phen, Meridian, Dr. Atkins and countless others. Everyone of them were DIETS! I'd do wonderful throughout the day, but would get so hungry by the afternoon that I would always ruin the diet for the day. With the lap band, I have yet to feel like I am on a diet. I'm hardly ever hungry, and when I am, I have snack (usually a South Beach cereal bar) and I'm usually good until dinner. I've lost 64 pounds since having the surgery and I feel wonderful. Each day is a new exciting day for me and I don't constantly think about food or what I'll be having later that day. I still have those days (like most) where I eat things I probably should not but I don't dwell on it like I used to. I just go back to eating the healthier, band friendly choices. Thank you to all the posts I have read and will read in this Group. I've learned so much from all of you and I do appreciate it! Kindest regards, Banded 4/13/2005 Dr. Macik in GA 360/295/??? Guest guest
, Thank you for your response and sentiments as it is appreciated. Congratulations to you on making goal and staying there! It is absolutley wonderful to be able to lose weight (or stay at goal as in your case) and not feel like you are dieting! I don't regret one second my decision to have the lap band procedure. It may have been expensive but it was a wonderful investment and well worth it. I pray too that I will one day make it to goal, whatever that might be. Again, thank you for your response!
