Oh, Tammy. That's what I meant to mention. While in the hospital I took my routine meds. They pretty much just dissolved in a small amount of water. It took about 10 minutes. But, you need to mix the dissolved meds with something. I drank the dab of water with the pills in it and it was totally gross.

I haven't had my morning meds yet today - avoiding it I'm sure. I'll let you know if I come up with some better idea. I'm sure it will be easier when we can have full liquids. PD

Tammy, It is so good to hear from you. Sorry about the diarrea...that is my fear also as I go to work right away after my surgery. YIKES!!!I bought a pill crusher...you should try that and see if it is easier for you to take your meds. Thanks Phyllis!! I was telling that now I just spread them out over a few minutes at a time. The crushing and putting them in water or juice was so gross for me. Dry Heaving!! Not Good!!LOL I do wait in the morning though before I take them now. I used to get up and that was the first thing that I would do. But now I drink my cup of tea and then start taking my pills. I only take 3 in the morning so its not as bad as it is at night. I also found Liquid Vitamins by Centrum at Walmart if anyones is interested. The bottle cost I think about $7.25. They taste gross but with a chaser of water its okay!! Tammy I. DOB-4/20/06

Is our Poppins? I can't remember who suggested the sugar, but I'm going to try it before my shower. If that doesn't work, I'm going to try Tammy's one pill at a time method. I haven't had BP med in a couple of days and cholesterol med at all. Crushing is indeed gross. Anyone want a $20 mortal and pesal? PD

Hi Tammy & all you other " Newbies " out there,

Try the VIACTIVE chewable vitamins - their like a chocolate carmel candy

and they disolve in your mouth as you chew them. One of the " original

bandsters " warned me about the taste of the Centrum liquid vitamins so

my bottle remains unopened on my kitchen sink! I bought it just before

I was banded in August of last year!. Longs Drugs also carries their

own " name brand " of the viactive type chewable vitamins as well as the

calcium supplements.

No more liquid meds for me - yuck!!! I'm taking Viactiv multivitamin chewables in tropical fruit flavor and their calcium in chocolate flavor. Much better than liquid! Tammy, I tried your idea of one pill or 1/2 pill at a time. It works and gets more water down me, too! I guess with more restriction in the band, pills might be a problem again, but for now - that's the way I'm goin'! PD

Also Walmart carries the caramel and SF chocolate chewable calcium

in their store brand for Way less money. I am hoping they get the

multi vitamin chewables pretty soon!
