Guest guest
since u and i have the same type of CI, how did you do that? Filter out the background noise? Was it the third map that helped, or the settings on your processor? I'm due for a map badly. Sept 29th.... I couldn't schedule it sooner cuz of their and my schedule conflicts, but I still love it anyway. cuddlymommy219 <scrapbookcathy@...> wrote: I got my Auria hooked up on September 7th and have been battling to hear the 'good stuff' (ie speech) over annoying background noise. Guest guest
, I have had 4 mappings so far -the initial one on 9/7, then 9/9, 9/14, and 9/16. I was adjusting so quickly that my audiologist had to keep cranking up the volume for me. I remember seeing some discussion about this happening on this list in the last few days. I did not adjust anything on my speech processor between taking it off last night and putting it on this morning. Its just like my brain finally figured out that other stuff isn't important. Be patient. It will happen soon. It really surprised me and moved me to tears. The only frustrating thing this morning has been now that I feel like I can hear there is nothing to listen to. I am at my office by myself and I don't have a radio. All I can hear is my fingers typing on the keyboard and the very quiet hum of the a/c and computer. Music to my ears! I had a hearing aid moment similar to yours. Friday evening, I decided to try my CI and HA together. That lasted all of 5 minutes because the HA sounded horrible! My HA is 8 years old and I am sure newer ones have much better sound quality. But, that was another wonderful CI moment. > since u and i have the same type of CI, how did you do that?
