Guest guest
Wow, Sheila. This is very bad news for you. You will have to wait six months. Yikes.. I know you were all ready for the surgery so this has to be a very big let down. I'm so sorry. I guess you'll have to find something to busy your time while you are waiting for January. I wish this hadn't happened to you. I'm glad you had the chance to talk to Pam and see her with her Nucleus. It's good that your mother got to meet her to and see what the implant can do. Guest guest
Sheila, and Mentor, January 15th is too far from today, may I say, but the cochlear implant would be perfect for Christmas gift, and you will (probably) recieve it on January 15th! :-) Congulats! Another Date Change Yesterday I had my appointments in London before my CI surgery but it turned to frustration when after choosing my CI equipment, accessories & colour I saw Dr. Parnes & he realised there would be no one to put in my PIC line on Sunday . He therefore changed my surgery date to January 15th at 9:30 a.m. EDT but I have to be admitted to University Hospital on Monday at 9a.m. & see the specialists & have my PIC line put in for my IV & so they can take blood etc . It is all very confusing & frustrating . It is so close now I just want to get it over . I am pleased with my surgeon & audiologist recommendations & feel ready to get this show on the road!. Doug & his Mom seem at little more comfortable with it since we spent time with Pam yesterday & she answered all their questions about her Nucleus & hearing loss as well as bringing us a great lunch. Thank you to each one of you for your support . You are all special. Sheila & Mentor
Guest guest
Sheila, I'm sorry your surgery was changed again, and I can imagine you are really disappointed; I know I would be if it was me in your shoes. Hope everything this time around is a go and they make sure they have all the staff ready to do their job that will get you on the road to better hearing. Well, at least you should be activated in time to hear the first sounds of spring! Hang in there, keep reading and asking questions and you will be ready for anything that comes your way regarding your ci. So glad you were all able to meet Pam and that questions were answered making things a little easier for everyone. Have a great weekend. Guest guest
think she means JUNE 15.....They'd put the Pic line in on Mon, June 14 & then do surgery on Tue.........I think it is only one day difference, not 6 months. My thoughts anyways....
