Guest guest
I went a different route. I had someone that works with beads make me a string that fastens with a lobster clasp around the wire and the other end is a clip that clips to my hair. It looks nicer then the plastic that goes around the ear and it holds very well as there has been a few times I have knocked my coil off. susan & hobbes michigan At 07:22 PM 10/30/2004 -0400, you wrote: >My 3G keeps falling off my ear. we tried a stronger magnet but that >irritated my head. Guest guest
Trish, I understand that you may want to use earmolds, but for those who may not know -- there are hypoallergenic earmolds that are made specifically for those who have skin allergies. I've had Lucite (hard) hypoallergenic skeleton earmolds for as long as I've worn hearing aids. They're so comfortable that 99.9% of the time I don't even know I have them in. In regards to the mic loc...Perhaps your audi isn't aware of what the mic loc is or how it works. You may want to visit the Cochlear website http://www.cochlearamericas.com and either e-mail your audiologist with this information -- or print out a copy to bring to your next appointment. Guest guest
Trish, Your audiologist is wrong. The Mic Loc is made for the 3G. I don't know why your audiolgist isn't informed on this as it's been listed in the product catalog at cochlear.com and here are the specs on the Mic Loc. " Product ID: Z60314 Category: ESPrit 3G, Accessories BTE Mic Lock Tubing-5 Pack Description: Behind The Ear Mic Lock Tubing, Adjustable for different ear sizes, mic lock secures the BTE processor on the wearer's ear, preventing the processor from falling off during physical activities. Price: US $15.00 " As you can see - this is a very inexpensive item and they last a very long time so you won't need to order more than one package. You should show them to your audiologist when you get them. Alice
Guest guest
, They are hard to put on. I use to try rubbing them in my hand first to warmer them up, thinking they might stretch better...didn't help much. Now I just leave the mic-locks ring on share battery covers. That way I can just grab them and have only to deal with attaching the tube on the ear piece coil.I was told ear molds are much easier to use with better results. I do find mic-locks uncomfortable especially under helmets. Ear molds remain me too much of HA...ugh..
