Yeah, that's common. Try to slow down, sip vs. drink. It can also be irritation to your diaphragm.

Hi Jane:

I was banded on May 14th and had a great experience. I loved all the

staff in Mexicali. The surgery went well and it is amazing how soon

after surgery everyone is up and about. My only word of warning is

when they say sip and not gulp, they mean it. The next day they

brought me broth, jello , tea and juice. I ate all my broth and was

very ill for the rest of the day. So just take a few sips but don't

eat the whole thing. At first I was pretty sore and couldn't bend

over, but by week three I'm back to being myself. I have lost 19

pounds. Good Luck! I hope this helps some.

Hi Lucy,

I had hiccups more right after the surgery than I do now. For me, I

noticed a huge decrease when I stopped using a straw. Also I am

more conscious of how my mouth is around the bottle or on the glass

paying close attention to try not swallow any air while I am

drinking.

Hope that helps!

Hi Jane,

You have it! The 362 is my highest weight, 346 was my weight the

day before surgery, 308 is current and 150 is my goal...though that

might change, its hard to know until I get closer to it.

I am so happy for you that your surgery date is right around the

corner. You are going to be so happy you did this for yourself.
