I think I have the HiRes, and my processor will be the Auria BTE. My activation date is this Thursday, April 1st! I am excited. I know that I should not expect much at first, but it will be nice to have something on my head to remind me why I went through the hell that was my surgery! Hi Bree...Congrats on your surgery and upcoming hookup! Yes, you will be activated with HiRes and I guess you will be starting out with the Auria? So, I guess your audiologist is not having you start out with a body processor? There are two Clarion lists now if you would like to join. I just started an open list that everyone is welcome to join and there is another closed list ( by invitation only). Sounds like you are in for an exciting week! I have been using HiRes for about 14 months now and love it! If you want to join my group...go to and type in the word Clarion, and it is the second link in the directory. Guest guest
Bree, Welcome to CI Hear and thank you so much for posting and telling your story. We are all different and it is good to realize the different experiences that people have - whether they are good or bad. You are about to earn your reward for all you've been thru. Please remember to take baby steps. That's probably the hardest thing to do as we all seem to want to jump right into perfect hearing. You may get a huge surprise when you are activated on Thursday and I sincerely hope this is so. If it's not what you are hoping for, just take it off and realize what you are not hearing when the processor is not on your ear. There are no special races to perfection with the CI. We are each on our own when we begin this process. Remember, we are all here for you and can and will answer questions as they come along. I found your information about the hearing dog in Oklahoma very interesting. I have a hearing dog named Stella who came to New Mexico from Oklahoma. She served as the " Demo Dog " for the state of Okahoma for 2 years before Oklahoma gave her to New Mexico to take the same position here. She was New Mexico's " Demo Dog " for 5 years until they retired her to me. She is a wonderful dog and I have let he assume the role of retirement and rarely count on her to do her Hearing duties. I find it quite amusing to see the difference when I put on her service animal coat and take her places. The minute the jacket goes on, her personality changes and she is very much a working dog. This always amazes me. Good luck on Thursday. We will all be rooting for you. Alice

At least that is what I was told! I hope so! I used to have an auditory trainer as a young child. Ever since, I have the biggest aversion to " body boxes " ! LOL I was told the same thing about body processor, and I do NOT blame you about BODY BOXES..... Had it from 3 y.o. until I was 20, that was main reason I held off being implanted.
