perhaps a funny story for you guys.

my friend is a opera singer, he teaches master classes now to

singers. one night i was out with my wife and we met him in a bar.

my wife had a sore back and he noticed that. he told us about

singing therapy. ok, so we didn't know this, but he told her to

relax and that he was going to make a big sound.........and he DID!

he asked where the discomfort was and inhaled, put his mouth near

her back and started to preduce a sound..... i guess a note/tune,

and the whole bar woke up (O: haha, btw, they know him. anyhoo, she

told me it was wonderful and as a matter of fact, told me yesterday

about it again how good it felt, and soon the discomfort was gone.

when i'm alone i sing, it makes me feel good, love music and can get

very emotional from certain music, like classic or latin music, to

just name a couple. it relaxes me, or fires me up when i need a

lift. have a great weekend guys, rik

I've heard of musical tones or vibrations used in therapies for pain but never knew anyone that had it done... cool Rik... Thanks for sharing. Congratulations Karyn you are about to embard on an amazing journey.

I will be having my second implant activated on May 8 but can't give you any

advice about such a quick activation. In fact, because of a healing issue I

have to wait two months to get my second one activated.

Good luck and please keep us posted on your progress.

My CI surgery date is 5/7/07 and activation date is 5/15/07. Very

excited but nervous too. Normally there is a two week wait between

activation and surgery but since I am having my " good " ear done, they

agreed to activate sooner since they had already been thinking about

activating some cases earlier. Would like to hear from others who have

had very short time between surgery and activation.

Hi Karyn,

I had my implant on 8-14-06 and activated on 8-21-07. No problem at

all. Incision was healed very nicely. I did help it a bit by

putting neo-sporin ointment on the incision every night.

Good luck, I know you will be successful with no problems.
