Guest guest
On a dog list I am on, one person had a dog with goopy eyes and one person suggested saline solution in the eyes. I am opposed to the use of saline purchased from the drug store or any other OTC or prescription drug - period. I had heard of yogurt compresses for various eye problems so I thought why not yogurt directly in the eye? Before I would suggest this as I have never heard of anyone who has done this, I decided to try it on myself. I washed my hands, stuck my finger in the organic yogurt (don't tell), held my right eye open with one hand and smeared the yogurt lightly across my eye and then spread the rest around the outside of my eye. I left this for about 2 minutes. Then I flushed out my eye with clean running tap water. I have a well and do not have floride or chlorine in there only a few bugs I guess. I then patted my eye dry with a paper towel and low and behold, my eye felt Great! It felt moisturized, clean, not gritty or sandy and clear...so good I did the other eye. I sometimes have problems with itchey, dry eye. This worked great for me and this morning I did have a lot of stuff on the outside of my eyes, sandy type stuff, so I just washed my face as usual and flushed out my eyes again with the cool water. I didn't have any eyebrite or anything else here, just trying to see what would happen. It works great for me and tonight I am going to repeat the process and also apply yogurt compresses and kick back for about 5 minutes. I'll let you know how this experiment goes. I have old eyes even though I have 20 20 vision I read constantly, work on the PC probably too much and also watch TV some too. Results tired eyes. This treatment made my eyes feel so good and rested. Who would have that about yogurt in the eyes? Never know until you try, I guess.
