Guest guest
, Alice, and all, Thank you for starting this thread on the Phonak Microlink. My audi and I have been planning for this development for months. I have the transmitter microphone, which can be worn on a necklace by a main speaker, held in the hand by the speaker or passed from speaker to speaker, or placed on a table to pick up speech in meetings. Currently, I use it with a tiny receiver boot attached to my L ear GNResound Canta 7 3D HA and plan to use it with the new receiver boot attached to my ESPrit 3G for a wireless FM listening experience! I hear well on it with my L ear HA and hope to hear it as clear as a bell with my CI, too. M., N24C ESPrit 3G 07/03/

She would be lost w/o her personal FM in the school setting and the van. She sets behind me in the van and really struggles with HA only but if she has the FM turned on she hears everything I say. The same for school and the teacher in the classroom.. The FM really helps her but I'm not sure about the HA's. They help in quiet one to one or in the same room but she still misses what her peers/brother say to her and often asks the teacher or myself what they said..... One of the reasons I am considering the CI. a
Guest guest
I am very dependent on my Microlink FM with hearing aids and am wondering if I'd miss it if I didn't have it with my implant. I've noticed that there's a lot of wiring to use it with a Auria processor but it fits on a boot that attaches to the ESPrit 3G. Does anyone use it with the ESPrit 3G? Les, I tried one of those about two weeks ago with my Auria and it worked great. I am very impressed at how these FM systems work with a CI! Guest guest
With my hearing aids I need the MicroLink to communicate in stores, restaurants, etc. I'm wondering if I will still need it after my implant. Is my hearing apt to be better than I'm doing now? Has anyone had this experience? Les Re: Phonak MicroLink OH OKAY THANKS. I HAVE DIRECT CONNECT SYSTEM WITH PURCHASED FM RX AND TX SYSTEM. Guest guest
Les, Everyone is differnt so it's really hard to predict how you will do in these situations but in all probability, because today's implants work so well in multiple situations without the need for assistive devices, I don't believe you will need the microlink in stores or restaurants. It can't hurt to use one if you are comfortable with it but hearing with a CI and hearing with a hearing aid are two different worlds.
