Guest guest
Hi everyone! My partner Kris has been trying to call Lee for two days but Wednesday night there was no answer at the number and then yesterday and so far today, Lee, your line is busy when she has tried to get through. So finally I made it down to the hotel lobby from the third floor and I'm using their computer! yipee!! Up til now I felt too tipsy to venture down here plus too lazy to get dressed!! I've been lounging in a recliner since Wednesday evening, having gotten back to the hotel about 7:30pm. I was given a wheelchair ride from the surgical suite, through the hospital ER and across the street to my hotel. My surgery was originally scheduled for 3:30pm on Wednesday but I was still waiting in the waiting room at 4:30. Finally when they took me back to prepare for surgery I think it must have been about 5:30pm. I was back in recovery by 6:45. Surgery took 55 minutes. Everything went very well. I had excellent care and no problems at all with anesthesia. I have perfect facial movement and no dizziness except a little wobbly and *airheaded*. The bandage is big and I have several pairs of one armed glasses which I've been using. I haven't had a problem with pain or swelling either and have used the pain pills sparingly. There's just kind of a dull ache in the area of my left ear. I was really really hungry after I returned to the hotel, having not eaten since the evening before when we joined Lee and her daughter for supper. Kris when across the street to the restaurant in the Inn at Virginia Mason and got me mashed potatoes and gravy since my jaw was a bit too sore to open wide and to chew harder foods. I get to remove the bandage tomorrow and will fly home Saturday afternoon. I'll check in after that. Lee, I'm sorry we haven't been able to get through to you but this computer is a life saver isn't it? It was such fun to spend an evening with you and your daughter! I'm glad we could do that! My last name is Savage by the way. I realized after we had met that I have no idea what your last name is either. lol! Talk to everyone later and thanks for your thoughts and well wishes! Guest guest
Pam, I was thinking about you yesterday and wondering how you were doing. <smile> I'm so glad your surgery went well! I couldn't believe it only took 55 minutes?! That must be the shortest CI surgery on record! <grin> Wishing you a continued smooth recovery. <hugs> Surgery date: 12/22/04 Activation date: 1/18/
Guest guest
Hi Pam, Congratulations on your surgery and I know you'll be glad to be home later today. Actually, you probably won't even see this until you get home! Good to hear too that you had only minimal problems and I'm sure that " airheaded " feeling will be gone by the time you're home. Wishing you luck on your activation in a few weeks too. Take care of yourself and rest a lot too. --Gayle -------------------------------------------------------------------- > Hi everyone!
