Hi, Eveyone: I have a really BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! My surgery is scheduled for

September 7th. The flights are reserved and everything is in place. The

key people in my life have been notified and I am putting things in place at

work for me to be off that week. My sister is going with me. My husband

prefers that she be there. She is a retired nurse and quite frankly is more

useful than my sweet hubby when it comes to medical care. I would have

booked sooner by those retirees are not available at the drop of a hat--they

have lives and travel just for the fun of it! :-)

I hope someone from our bandster group will be there to keep us company! I

have read, researched and studied for months. Time to GET HER DONE!!!!!

Dee: I just booked via American Airlines for $298 round trip. It is a

7:30 a.m. flight. We are going to change planes in Dallas/Ft. Worth and

arrive around 10 a.m. Leave at 2:15 and get back at midnight. Do you spend

the night or take a later " red eye " flight back and arrive in the next a.m.?

I take Delta leave at 6:43 am arrive at 9:43 am return the next morning at 9:15 am....it is a long 27 hours. Yours sounds like a better flight.

Take care you are in my prayers...Make sure you have protein drinks(new whey or powder that dissolves into water, boullion and gas x available for your.

Are you returning the same day they are releasing you from the hospital? Remember to keep walking. Are you getting any exercise in now?

I am so excited for you.

Boy, you are having a long day of travel. My flight times won't work for

fills. However, if we could ever coordinate our trips, we could share a

hotel room in San Diego. I ordered some protein packs from the unjury.com

website that another bandster spoke about several days ago. I also plan to

get some other samples to take with me for the trip--along with my bouillion

cubes. Have purchased a package of Gas-X to pack. Will throw in the

heating pad. Does the hospital provide adapters for electrical conversions

or are they needed? I purchased lemon jello (yuk) when I bought groceries

last night and also added vegetarian, beef and chicken consumme. I thought

I would go to GNC this weekend and see what they had. What liquid vitamins

did you use? Where, locally, do you find the best liquid protein? I want

to have everything in place when I arrive back. I need to be back at work

on Monday and am also trying to keep that week's schedule pretty light.

I do not plan to stay any extra time. My sister needs to be for church on

Sunday. So we are coming on home on Saturday. She can't leave until the 7th

because they volunteer for election day--which is Tuesday, the 6th. She is

an active retiree, hence our travel schedule is based on that.

I am very bad about exercising and not walking as I should. In fact, to be

honest, I am not walking at all. I am making a concerted effort to reduce

my food intake--as is my husband.

I do so appreciate all of the input from you and the other bandsters.

I feel most relaxed now that the decision has been made and the plans are in

place.

Hope you are doing well. .

Sam's club has a bottle of complete nutrients which comes in liquid form. One bottle is a 30 day supply. It has rather an orangy taste. Hope this helps. It is good to have everything in order. It is so much easier to stick with the liquid phase of the band when you have the things all on hand. I would put a little of the arizona diet green tea in my water..just to give the water some flavor. Although now I just enjoy drinking a carafe of water.

Just a couple more weeks for you...how exciting.

Dear ,

Thanks for posting this for us. I printed out a copy to post on my

fridge. The food related guidelines are a help of course, but the

guidelines that I highlighted and underlined, my favorites and the

ones that I will have to work the most on, are:

* I'm watching what I eat so you don't have to*

and

* No whining - or at least not much, not often*

and

*The answer to my problems is not in the

cupboard/refrigerator/freezer*

Thanks again!

P.
