Hey Craig!!

I wanted to know if your wife Becky ever got her drivers license?

I will say that I am totally going to envy her..in some ways..if she masters

driving on the freeway! LOL! I have NEVER been good at that!!

I wanted to share a smidge about my driving..only in the sense that I can

drive..pretty much everywhere..pretty well, EXCEPT for the Freeway or the

Highway(we have ONLY highways out here in the DC area...) but, I grew up in

Northern California..and they have Freeways there!! Either way..I am really

frightened of them! Here I am, an adult of the age of 47 and I am STILL scared

to death of them!!

I was tricked by a friend of mine to take a local " low key " freeway to get to a

house where she was housesitting at...and I did make it..but, trust me..I was

still shaken up about it!!

I have absolutely no particular reason WHY I am so frightened..but, I am!! When

I watched where Becky felt fine at first behind the wheel and then, started to

panic..I could totally identify with her feelings...

It can be not only " initimidating " when some people who teach you are impatient

or they " lose it " and you just don't feel all that comforted by the ways that

they " instruct " you!! I can relate!!

I am sure that she will do okay though..she's just a bit scared at this

moment..but, I think that she will do really well..I was scared of driving

too..I used to have nightmares over and over that I would NEVER learn to

drive...now I only have some bad " daydreams " about not doing well on the

highways! I don't really like the way that people drive or maybe I oughtta say

" don't drive " all that well out here! LOL!! Hope she gets her license..I KNOW

that she will LOVE having that " freedom " ...I LOVE To drive..I just need to get

OVER that fear of the highways/freeways!!!

The only other thing I can add is that I also prefer to use " memory " to " getting

around " a town or place..that are local...instead of using a voice and or a

map!(I am a VERY bad map reader!!)

SO, knowing WHERE something is..by repetition works so much better for me..and

it always has!!! Maybe this could help her too!!(as in getting used to the road

signs..where there are certain types of lights and more! For me..this helps a

LOT!!!(OH and as for those GPS car maps..they do NOT always work..they sometimes

take you to the WRONG place!! Happens to my hubby all of the time!!!)

I am sure she will do okay though!! And she WILL love that time she gets to use

the car!! (I know I do!!!!) LOL!!
