Someone can correct me, but I believe fasting norms are 70 - 120 and post-meal

are 70 - 140. The truth is in an A1c test ordered by your doctor.

Blood glucoses that are up to 115 is not glucose

intolerance. Type 11 diabetes can still hit anyone.

My Mom lost 80 pounds always with the hope of going

off type 11 medication and was not able to. The

reason the MGB helps people off of their meds is that

cells in the newly disturbed small intestine that is

bypassed start taking over the work of the pancreas.

Tissues in skinny people become insulin resistant

also.

I don't know of any post-ops who have developed

diabetes but I'm sure it is possible. Thin people do

get diabetes too, not just overweight people. I know

a lady, about 6' tall, probably never over 120 pounds

and she has had diabetes for years.

type II diabetes? I am having higher than normal blood sugars~~105-115

fasting and ~145 post prandial. I had the procedure 4 years ago, and

That's what I was going to say. My husband wasn't diagnosed with Type II

diabetes until he hit 350. The A1C test tells what you sugar has been for the

past two months and is the best indicator, but it sounds to me like your numbers

are pretty normal.

Mine is gone post op, but it took more than a year before I was off the

last injectable insulin. So with all my siblings and both parents, and

grandmother having type 2 diabetes, I know that this is the honeymoon

period and eventually I will be back on medication. My doctor also

thinks that in another 10 years or so...I will be back on some type of

medication.
