Guest guest
Bip...I see a doc in Beverly HIlls for my weight issues and I totally understand your viewporit. She is the top doc in her field ..on news radio, treats the stars etc...I agree they do not have the compassion. I am going to see Dr. Campos tomorrow and I am so excited.. I am with ya Bip...I can lie well to them to leave me alone and they are stumped. Then they get mad. Try to sell me something else. Whatever. I am glad i did what I did, I hope it works! First fill is tomorrow. JodiBipley <Bipley@...> wrote: I just have to write a little bit about Dr. Campos. You know, I'm nearing goal and my journey hasn't been the easiest due to lots of issues. Personal, relationship, stomach problems, the works. Dr. Campos has been there for me from the very beginning. No matter what I needed, even if I just needed to talk he has always been there. Sometimes I have a question and I prefer to talk to Dr. Aceves and sometimes I prefer to talk to Dr. Campos. They compliment one another so well and in so many ways. I'm a horrible patient. I hate doctors, I really do. I usually avoid them and when I am forced to go to one I usually lie through my teeth and tell them whatever they want to hear so they'll leave me alone. Being in medicine I know exactly what to say so they will leave me alone. I realized that Dr. Aceves and Dr. Campos are the only two doctors I have ever actually been honest with. If they ask me a question I tell them the truth. I even fess up to things I don't have to because I CAN. No judgement, no harsh words, yet a dose of reality but in a nice way. Those are things I can deal with. The arrogance and conceit of so many docs in the US... they just annoy the crap out of me. I don't experience that in Mexicali. Ever been to a US doc and they make you feel like a beached whale while sitting on their exam table and they inform you that you are fat? Are they under the impression that we didn't KNOW that already? Do people really think we WANT to be fat? We prefer a cookie over thin? Most people who aren't fat or dealt with fat issues just don't get it. They don't understand. How many US docs tell you that all you have to do is diet and exercise? Do they really think we are that stupid that we didn't know that? So now they have informed us that we are fat and we need to diet and exercise. Wow... what a revelation! Who would'a known? Why is Dr. Campos so different? Why does he get it when other docs don't? Is it the Mexican culture? Is it a different kind of compassion? A difference in training during medical school? Is it extra time for research on his part for morbid obesity issues? So what's the difference in Dr. Campos vs. typical US docs? I really don't get it. I mean, I've been working with doctors of all kinds for over 20 years and I don't believe I have ever experienced docs like him. This isn't a sales pitch to the newbies considering Mexicali for surgery, this is really directed more towards people that already know the Mexicali team. Guest guest
I THINK IT'S COMPASSION. I THINK WE ALL WALK AWAY WITH THE SAME EXPERIENCE IN MEXICALI AND THAT IS THAT WE ALL FELT LIKE DR. A AND HIS TEAM ACTUALLY REALLY CARED ABOUT EACH ONE OF US AS AN INDIVIDUAL. THEY ARE CONSIDERATE AND THOUGHTFUL AND SPEND TIME WITH EACH PATIENT ON A ONE ON ONE BASIS. THEY MAKE YOU FEEL SPECIAL AND NOT JUST A "FAT PERSON" I AM WITH BIPLEY ON THIS ONE, I ALSO HAVE WORKED IN THE HEALTHCARE INDUSTRY AND MOST U.S. DOC ARE THOUGHTLESS AND VERY HARD TO DEAL WITH! IT IS JUST REFRESHING TO HAVE A DR THAT YOU TRUST AND BELIEVE IN WITH ALL YOUR HEART. DR. A HAS CHANGED SO MANY LIVES AND YET HE REMAINS APPROACHABLE TO ANYBODY THAT NEEDS TO TALK TO HIM OR ANY OF HIS STAFF. THEY ARE THE GREATEST. Guest guest
HI there. :-) I do have to agree with the fact that there is a " huge " difference between the DR. A and Dr. C staff and American Dr's. I think part of it is the Mexican culture. I have worked with Mexican people before through a missions trip I took with a youth group years ago, and they were so kind, hospitable and there was just gentleness to them. I was amazed (truly amazed) by the care that I received in Mexico. They were all so kind and caring. And if I was single and Dr. C was single, He would be my kind of guy!! lol He is a cutey to boot. :-) I cant say this as a whole because I am sure Mexico has people that are ugly and hateful just like anywhere else in the world. But I just think for the most part Mexican people are just beautiful people!!!! I have a Mexican gal that works for me and I know her family well, and they are all beautiful people. They radiate kindness, and they are all very generous!!! When I was in Mexico I loved their smiles, and their warmth. I wouldn't mind having a vacation home down like by San Felipe. Because I love it down there so much!! So, all this to say, I agree 100% with you!! If I had more money and more time I would go back and visit them often! But money and time are a precious commodity these days for me. But I will get to go back and see their shinning faces again someday! I look forward to that day! :-) hugs, > > I just have to write a little bit about Dr. Campos. > > You know, I'm nearing goal and my journey hasn't been the easiest due to > lots of issues. Guest guest
It is the culture, my husband is from Mexcio as well, and his family is awesome! We visit down there quite often. The people are different, you never want to come home. It is a genuine, loving concern, I do see what you mean. delBosque 300/196/150 DOB 12/28/2006 > > I just have to write a little bit about Dr. Campos. > > You know, I'm nearing goal and my journey hasn't been the easiest due to > lots of issues. Guest guest
I believe that both Dr. Aceves and Dr. Campos are excellent physicians. I personally would go to either of them as my family doc if the commute wasn't so far. I was very impressed with both of them. Guest guest
The day before my op he took us to a great Ice Cream shop down the road - I had a scoop of Vanilla (best I've ever had) and Scoop of Coconut - Won't be having any ice cream for a while now - but worth it - thanks Dr Campos! You made the last supper a truly religious experience. > > > > > > I just have to write a little bit about Dr. Campos. > > > > > > You know, I'm nearing goal and my journey hasn't been the easiest > > due to > > > lots of issues. Guest guest
Dr.Campos is such a sweet young man. I can't say enough now impressed I was with his embrace of us - his patients - as humans. It wasn't just the gesture of taking us to a fantastic ice cream shop the night before the surgery (should I even be talking about ice cream here? ))) but at every juncture, every turn, he acted as a mensch. (mensch is a Jewish word and means " a good person. " A " mensch " is a particularly good person, like " a stand- up guy, " a person with the qualities one would hope for in a dear friend or trusted colleague.) > > > > > > > > > > I just have to write a little bit about Dr. Campos. > > > > > > > > > > You know, I'm nearing goal and my journey hasn't been the easiest > > > > due to > > > > > lots of issues.
