Guest guest
I'll take that challenge! I've just got to figure out what I'm going to do on my " off " days! This comes at a good time, too, because this week's going to be a busy one and I can't make it to all my classes. Friday (tomorrow) I have tickets to go to see Jeff Foxworthy. Of course, we'll have to park 2+ blocks away, so there's my exercise /that/ night Tuesday is my Mom's birthday, I'll have to figure something out as we're going out right after I get off work, and then Wednesday I've got a training class in another city. The rest of the time, though, it's 1 hour of Yoga on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, then Tai Chi on Thursday. My first class is tonight, I'll let you know how that goes! Guest guest
> In other groups in the past I have belonged to gals would throw out > challenges. We tried that here a few times and although they usually got plenty of takers in the beginning, by the third day participation dropped off and people began to feel guilty for not keeping up with it, like New Year's Resolutions. If you want to have one, you can always keep a record of participation over on the Database section of the list's page. All members of the list have access to it, but you need a ID to get to it. I think only one list member, one of the ladies who still hasn't introduced herself, doesn't have one, even after all my requests and reminders. Guest guest
Hey , I would love to join you in the challenge! I will commit to exercise at least 30 min twice a day :0) I will start tomorrow. I wish Amy could do it with me, but we just got home from the emergency room. Believe it or not, she fell on a fork! A large dinner fork pierced all the way into her shin muscle. The good news is that there is no permanent damage. She just will have to be off her leg for a few days. Maybe she can start a week late? Are we going to report in? It would be great if we could make ourselves accountable??? Great idea ! Thanks, DOB 7/20/05 210/129/at goal? Guest guest
WOO HOO I have one brave soul LOL. Yes, you must report in daily and let us know what exercise and when you did it to hold you accountable. Me and JJ (My oldest son) are getting up at 5:30AM tomorrow morning and walking. Getting up that early is a challenge in of itself but I don't have the " I don't have time " excuse if I do it that early. I keep saying " It is only for 30 days " LOL but I hope it will get me motivated to keep going at least in the evenings afterwards. Thanks for joining up !! Guest guest
Okay, ...I'm in. I'm not even a bandster, but it certainly won't hurt me any. I'm still too broke to go to Mexicali for lap band and my insurance won't approve WLS in the States. I'm planning to change insurance companies and try again, so I'm a few months off from knowing if I can do anything yet. However, exercise and losing a few pounds will not hurt regardless of what type of surgery I have done or when. At almost 300 lb now, surely some exercise will help! Guest guest
Hey Nina, I know we have the weirdest accidents! You should have seen all the Docs and nurses in the emergency room. They said this was a first for them :0) They took her right back because all the people in the waiting room were horrified to see a fork stuck all the way in her shin. It looked like a Halloween prank. I better get on the treadmill :0) Exercise Challenge ’s exercise challenge: Who wants to join me? The challenge is a tough one. It will require you to exercise EVERY day, twice a day, for at least 30 min each time. The challenge is for the next 30 days beginning October 16th. I am wanting to do this challenge for myself and my son. My son has agreed to do the challenge with me. Who else wants to accept the challenge? You can substitute twice a day for once a day if you exercise for one hour. The main thing is to get in a total of one hour a day EVERY DAY. Also, you have to check in daily with what exercise you did for that day. Come on, who is up to it? Guest guest
A little early for me to start that (only 3 weeks out) but I WILL join you in a couple of weeks. I wanted to share a recipe with you all but especially those on creamed soups. It is full of protein and really good. Shrimp Bisque 1 Tb. extra-virgin olive oil 1 med. red bell pepper, chopped 1/2 cup chopped yellow onion 1/2 lb. cooked or raw shrimp tails removed, cut in pieces 2 Cups fat-free half and half 1 Cup no salt added tomato sauce 1/4 tsp. hot sauce, or to taste Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste 1 tsp. butter 1/4 Cup grated fresh Parmesan cheese In saucepan, heat olive oil. Add red pepper and onion; saute' on low heat until soft, 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add shrimp, half and half, tomato sauce, hot sauce, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes. Add butter. Put 1/2 hot mixture in a blender and carefully process at high speed about 15/20 seconds, or until no large pieces remain. Transfer bisque into soup bowls. Repeat with remaining mixture. Sprinkle on Parmesan cheese. Optional garnishes: herbs and additional shrimp. Serves 6. Per 3/4 cup; 162 calories, 13 g protein, 14 g carbs. 5 g fat (2g saturated), 76 mg cholesterol, 1 g fiber, 290 mg sodium It was really easy to fix. Enjoy! Guest guest
Thanks . I love a great challenge and I certainly need the motivation! I have my first fill scheduled this afternoon; however I will complete 60 minutes of aerobics from 6pm-7pm. The exercise may change, depending on my mood and schedule, however I will commit to 60 minutes EVERY day!!! Thanks and best of luck to all. Guest guest
Hi and Amy I'm sorry to hear about Amy's accident. I hope she is doing better by now! Here's a similar story. Years ago, my oldest daughter and my youngest daughter decided to take a ride on our 3 wheeler 1/4 mile up the road to get the mail. One of them was eating a pickle on a fork. They went too fast, lost control and crashed and the fork ended up sticking out of my youngest daughter's shoulder!!! She still has a scar from it and gets embarrassed everytime someone asks her about it. I am still really tight and have not been able to eat much solid food. I think I have lost some weight but am not at home so haven't weighed in a couple of weeks. Dana, Betty and I had a great time meeting up and visiting and of course trying on clothes! I think my next jaunt will be to Florida and I'm hoping to talk Bob into letting us drive through Mobile on the way home so I can meet up with Jenni! Any of you Forida people live near Lake Placid or Sebring????? Take care and Amy and I hope you both get back healthy soon! Penny > Hey , > I would love to join you in the challenge!
