Hi – I am just a few days ahead of

you – my DOB is 9/22/06. I started this week with deviled eggs –

I didn’t realize how much I missed them until I made several for a

meal. I just had to chew very well, as several members stated they have

trouble with eggs. I did not seem to have any problems. I am also

going to eat tuna – tuna and egg salad (no lettuce), and maybe tuna with

pasta, such as Tuna Helper. I also got some of the pre-made mashed

potatoes – Crocker Barrel – that is soooooo good. I am not

much at making mashed potatoes – always too lumpy. I may also try

the canned salmon.

I’m still drinking protein drinks in

the am, and the liquid whey protein between meals, to make sure I get enough

protein. I tried fresh peaches the other day, and almost had a PB

experience. I must have taken too big of a bite or didn’t chew it

enough.

Solid Food

Hi everybody. I'm getting ready to introduce solid

food back into my

diet. I wanted to ask everybody what they recommend for an easy

transistion. I always get nervous the first day of a new phase. I

haven't had any challenges yet and want to move into the final phase

smoothly. This week I'm enjoying scrambled eggs with cheese, tuna

with pasta and egg salad. I've never been so happy in my entire

life. Who woulda thought! Please let me know your food choices and

ideas for a smooth transition.

Hi Ronda. Ernesto was probably droppin you off while picking me up!

We are on the same track. I also bought the Crocker Barrel

potatoes. Pretty good. I was thinking more like next week. You

know, adding solid non mushy food. What do you have planned for the

next phase? I went on 's web and she recommends chicken, pork

and vegies. Some people have trouble with beef, so I'm gonna wait

on that for a few days. Thanks,

Hi , for me I also ate besides the choices you have written was

shrimp, refried beans (without fat), lots of hummus (I love that

stuff), salmon (which I haven't had in awhile and need to implement to

get more protein), sliced ham, chicken nuggets w/o breading, chicken

strips, some steak (though at times it can be really hard to digest: I

suggest getting Papaya pills to help with digestion). Just take it

slow and easy, I have had my second fill and I am finding myself

readjusting once again...so slow is the process to go. One day you'll

find you can have chicken or tuna and then the next day it's a no go,

so just go with what your body tells you. Drink lots of H2o.

– I haven’t even thought

about next week, when the “real” food is available. I like

chicken, pork and beef, so I would like to eat all of it, but I heard someone has

trouble with each item, so I don’t know which food I will have trouble

with (if any). I’m planning to take it easy and not rush into

anything. I haven’t had much problem so far, and I don’t want

to start now. I will probably start with a chicken, as that is easy to

fix.

Hey Rhonda,

I found with any of the meats is to make it tender. If ever I eat chicken, pork or beef and it doesn't chew down to a nice watery paste I don't risk swallowing it. A tender piece of meat or chicken goes down fine. Every once in a while I eat some meat that is real stringy and tough and I chew it up and discreetly put what doesn't break down into my napkin.

Good luck on "real food" . Protein is your friend.

I moved into this phase a few days early, because I was on a camping trip and

couldn't

explain my weird eating habits!

Everything worked out fine except eggs! No eggs for me in any form.

Hi, I never had a sore throat but have seen posts from others that have. It is caused by the breathing tube they insert during surgery, Jane mzducati900ss <mzducati900ss@...> wrote: hey bandstersI am concerned because I started by solid food and my

Most people aren't intubated in Mexicali, it is a special mask they use to keep you breathing during surgery. Larger BMI people or people with a specific anatomy are intubated.

Since surgery was 8/8 my guess is that she either has a throat infection of some sort or a secondary infection (such as thrush) from the antibiotics. Either way it should be checked out.

So I broke down and went to the doctor and I have an infection in my

throat. I know we are not supposed to drink with meals but with a sip

a water is the only way I can get something other than broth down. Is

it ok to sip until my infection goes away?
