Guest guest
thanks for the reply Dana. I get my shoulder pain exactly where you get yours except mine seems to be at its worst after I drink or eat anything. I am trying to stay to liquids but like I said I have cheated with mashed potatoes and they were soupy. It looks like you have done great. You have lost a lot of weight already. What are your eating habits like now?
Guest guest
Hi Eileen, Sounds like you are doing well. That's great! I spoke with today and she said she has lost 16 lbs already. She hasn't eaten much of anything at all though. She has had a few rough days but sounds like today was a whole lot better than it has been. I thought maybe I was the only one that was so hungry. I guess I need to try and have more will power with the clear liquids and stick them out a little longer. Keep me posted on your progress. Guest guest
Hi , Congradulations on your 6 lb loss!!! After surgery, I did pretty much what the post-op instructions said. But, by day 10, I was really getting hunger and did have thinned cream of chicken soup(strained) and only a half cup if that. I felt so much better too. I didn't advance any further until day 15, then I had "soupy" mashed potatoes, and slowly tried the other items on the list. You should really try to stick it out as long as you can to allow the band to heal in place. Solid foods to soon could strain the internal sutures or possibly cause you to vomit which could cause the band to slip. Check with Nina about your concerns. Once you get the ok to move to creamed soups ect. you will feel better. I am almost 4 months out, and still get some shoulder pain when I'm hungry that does go away after eating. Also, my second fill really cut the shoulder aches down. I get them now only a few times a week and hardly notice them. It was like the fill "locked " the band into place. Ididn't really have much relief with the 1st fill though. Do you get your pain in the front or back? I get mine across the front, from my mid-sternum to my left shoulder. My friend Betty, that had surgery with me gets her pain in here shoulder blade. Just curious....Hope this helps and I know you can get through this, broth and jello will soon be history:) Dana 2-1-06 200-162-140's -------------- Original message -------------- From: "lisatmoore65" <lisatmoore@...> Hi Everyone! I have been looking at this sight and decided to write. I had my surgery with Eileen (Hi Eileen!), another good friend of mine, and 4 other gals on last friday. Dr. Aceves and his group truly are wonderful people and I think I definitely picked the right place to have my surgery. The problem I am having is that I'm not really having any problems. I have a little bit of shoulder pain but nothing unbearable and I am constantly hungry. I cheated yesterday and had a few spoonfuls of mash potatoes at 3:00 and and that filled me up for the rest of the night. The shoulder pain that I had been having actually felt better after I ate (what I shouldn't have). Is there something wrong with me? The br oth and jello are making me crazy.. my stomach growls non stop and I just want to eat!! I have lost 6 lbs which I am satisfied with. I have no uncomfortable feelings in my stomach other than it growling. I almost feel like I wasn't banded at all. Has anyone else had this experience? I am thinking I will be needing a fill as soon as I can. Anybody havy any input for me? Thanks.dob 5/12/06206/200/
Guest guest
HI LISA: So good to hear from you and that your doing well. Yeah, 6 pounds GONE for good for you. That's great beginning and we definitely ARE on the losing side now. Yes, I have to agree....I have NEVER heard my abdomen talk like it has been talking this past week....LOUD too!! I havn't had the nerve to try any foods even though I am terribly hungry. I just try not to think about it and drink more water. I never did have the shoulder pain and all the gas has finally been feeling a little better. My that stuff has made it's rounds around my torso. I didn't realize how uncomfortable that surgery gas could be. Keep in touch and let me know how your doing. Eileen > > Hi Everyone! Guest guest
Hi , Glad to hear your do well. Good job on your weight loss! I live in Texas and I am thinking about just getting my fills from Dr. Aceves. Unless I can find someone in my area that is reasonable. I have friends that work for the airlines so I can get good deals on airfare. I would prefer to have Dr. A do my first fill so I know exactly where my port is and I don't have the problem your husband had. Take Care and keep in touch. Guest guest
Hi , I live just 45 minutes north of Houston. I wouldn't mind getting my fills here if the price is right. Do you know of any Dr's in my area and what there prices are? Where abouts do you live in Texas.

Guest guest
Just a quick note to say you can take Imodium for the diarrhea. And quit weighing yourself!! Don’t worry about weight loss until you have a good fill, just let the band heal…this is your healing time.
