---I haven't checked anything out, but see if its ok for her to have

apples and lemonade almost daily..[because taking heparin- which

works miracles]...there are several herbs too...2 years ago I took

the wrong 2 drugs

[i think it was gemfibrolin and theophyline not sure] together and

had clots in my left leg...for weeks..I could feel them start the day

after I took the meds...I stayed busy but took all the herbs that

help or prevent clots..I do not even know when it left..

the pregnancy complicates things a bit so there are herbs she must

not use.

For DVT here are a few things you can do... I would also look into cayenne and super tonic (but check the reaction with what she is taking) exercise your legs at least every 2-3 hours - try to take regular breaks from driving. Or if you're a passenger, walk up and down the aisle of a coach, train or plane1,3 exercise the muscles of your lower legs (which act as a pump for the blood in the veins) while sitting - pull your toes towards your knees then relax, or press the balls of your feet down while raising your heel1,3 wear loose-fitting clothing1,3 keep hydrated by drinking water rather than alcohol and caffeinated drinks1 Some herbs may be useful if women with FVL choose not to use heparin.Garlic, ginger, ginkgo and purple grape juice are just a few of the manyfoods and herbs with anticoagulant activity. Here is some info I came across

from midwifery.com... Hello All! My name is and I live in Ontario, Canada. I have 5 children, all with Midwives except the last due to complications. I had a homebirth with #4 and didn't have any other problems with my other births up till #5. While about 15wks pregnant, I was admitted into the hospital due to a massive blood clot from ankle to waist. I was on Heprin and then put on Fragmin after it broke and went to both lungs. I was on Fragmin till 6wks postpartuma nd then on Coumidan. I am homozygous for Factor V Leiden and heterozygous for MTHFR. I am currently on nothing except garlic, fenugreek, vitamin's E, C & B's as well as some other minerals and vitamins. I would like to have more children, but don't want ot be on the thinners. I want a homebirth. I know that Jenrose has the same disorder, and am curious to see what she has to say. Thanks for all the help and feel

free to ask any questions to clarify anything I'vew said here. Thanks again, Meg :)Oh, and if I've posted this in the wrong area please let me know so that I can repost it. I am also an aspiring midwife and doula.Bruising... the white part inside the green pepper is supposed to be good for people who bruise easy.. Arnica gel applied right away is good. I believe rosemary eo is another. Butchers broom is an anti-inflammatory useful for varicose veins, leg cramps haemorrhoids, capillary, weakness, and bruising. Hope this helps some ... I'm headed to bed. Suzi <deuteronomy2929@...> wrote: Okay, gang, lets put our heads together. We have some new friends out here, a wonderful couple expecting their first baby in about 3 months. Okay,

Heparin only makes the problem worse. I have already gone over this with

another friend of mine who had a similar problem with one of her legs.

She is no longer using any rat poison. She refuses. Smart lady she is.

Number one, I will not suggest she quit the rat poison any time soon.

That must be her decision when she feels it is right. First though, she

needs to change her diet. Again it is choice but eating sad will not

solve the problem. She needs to change her diet to include lots of fresh

raw fruits and tender leafy greens. She can also use more raw garlic in

her diet as well. She also needs to make sure she is getting plenty of

fresh air, pure water and sunlight along with exercise. Another aspect

is to overcome the stigma caused by the diagnosis. She must get an

optimistic attitude and outlook and decide that she wants to get better.

This can be overcome but she has to do the work. She can be healed

permanently and totally. It is her choice.

Changing her diet will make the greatest change for her and this

condition. I will write my friend and see if she would be willing to

share her success and trials with you . Then you can pass the info on.

Arnica does not help with bruising, however, helichrysum oil is awesome

for that.

We shall see,

Don, Thank you for your reply! I am cautious as well about the Heparin. I've been doing a lot of reading on it, and it sounds just plain scary to me. Another is Lovenox! (my new friend) is slowly changing her diet to a more vegi based diet. She is eating more fruits and vegitables, salads, raw veggies, that sort of thing. Still consuming too much animal protien and fat in my opinion. I've read that those with her "condidtion" are prone to gall bladder problems, so I have recommended she go as easy as possible on animal fats, and eat lots of citrus fruit and drink lemon water as much as possible. I'll also recommend the garlic. I should have thought of that. She gets LOTS of fresh air and sunsine these days. The weather here is clear and hot every day, and where she lives there is a pool. I know, chemicals. But at least she is

excercising. As for the bruising, I think I still have some helichrysum oil, and will recommend it for her. I LOVE the smell of it!! Thanks, Don, and anything else you can come up with would be greatly appreciated! Don Eitner <mysticalherbalist@...> wrote: Okay,Heparin only makes the problem worse.
