Oops...They said just porcelain doesn't hold as well...now this was the first I heard of that yesterday as I said I wanted porcelain crowns.... Advice wanted so I can call then when they are back in the office Monday....thanks.... It's a choice I am making for the crowns...but I can't afford to have all implants either...what a challenge..............mouth not feeling great right now either...one tooth that is in question, that I am going to the specialist for next week, is not behaving...it's a small nagging feeling as if I am getting a cavity........which can't be the case. The metal that I think you are referring to is what actually makes contact with what is left of your tooth. The procelain goes over that in the shape of your former tooth.In my case, after talking to my dentist, I decided on using gold.
