Guest guest
Theolia... Plateaus are normal for anyone losing weight. Here's a great article on the topic: http://www.weightwatchers.com/util/art/index_art.aspx?art_id=23561 & tabnum=1 & sc=801 & subnav=Science+Library%3a+The+Physics+of+Weight+Loss Be sure and stick to your 800 calories daily, track it on www.thedailyplate.com or www.fitday.com if you currently are not tracking food and liquid intake. How much exercise are you doing? Are you getting at least 30 minutes in daily? That's really important and kicks up weight loss in a huge way. We have lots of reasons for over eating, there are biological and emotional reasons for over eating, there is no excuse for not exercising. If you can't run then walk. Some folks are too large to walk so they can do chair exercises. So I would suggest tracking calories and kicking up exercise. I'm most familiar with thedailyplate but there you enter your weight the first thing daily and then enter exercise minutes and it will actually tell you how many calories you burned for that type of exercise. I've used it since I was banded 9 months ago. ... A sleeve is where about 80% of the stomach is removed leaving a very small " banana " shaped pouch. It used to be the first half of bypass but without the rerouting and malabsorption of gastric bypass. If I ever lost my band for any reason and actually wanted another WLS, a sleeve is probably the only procedure I would consider. It's a restrictive form of WLS vs. the malabsorption of bypass. 252/153/150 Banded 12/06 On 10/1/07, Michel <mchlanna@...> wrote: What is a Sleeve bypass? Guest guest
Hi, I had my surgery 8-9-07 and have lost 32 lbs but when I was at 20lbs down I get stuck also so I added more time on the exercise and ate 1/2 cup more fruit twice daily. That made me lose the rest and as of this morning I have lost 38 lbs and if I get stuck again I think I'll just up the exercise a little. Hope this helps. I amd really please with my surgery and have no problems hope the same is true for you. Guest guest
The sleeve bypass is were the doctor removes 80-85% of your stomach so you are left with about 10 to 12 ozs for your stomach. It is explaoned better on the internet but I choose this as I was afraid my body would reject the lap band and I would have spent all tha tmoney for nothing. I am very pleased with this operation and have had no problems. I have lost 32 lbs in 7 weeks. I follow the diet that Dr Aceves gave me and I exercise regular. I only wanted to lose about 100 lbs with as little problems as possible. Thanks, From: kristen@...Date: Mon, 1 Oct 2007 22:58:29 +0000Subject: Re: Sleeve Bypass What is a sleeve bypass?>> I had the sleeve bypass on Aug. 9, 2007 and have lost 32 pounds as of > today. Guest guest
Caprise... They actually remove about 80% of the stomach and they don't bypass anything. With gastric bypass they staple down the stomach and bypass intestine. 252/151/150 Banded 12/06 On 10/2/07, caprise holmes <capriseholmes@...> wrote: so they dont bypass part of the intestines? sort of like stomach stapling? capriseCURTIS WATSON <theolia25@...> wrote: a gastric sleeve is where they remove about half of the stomach. Guest guest
Hi , I had the gastric sleee in August 2007. I have lost about 35 pounds. The problems are about the same as the lapband. The only difference is you do not have the fills. I am not sure if the beginning weight loss is the same. I think this process is a little slower, or it could be because I am not exercising.
