Ahh, that's nice! Jess adores her kitties and they let her drag them all

over--I'm not sure the kitten can walk--he never gets to. Congratulations!

(and don't have any thoughts of how great it is have a baby you don't have

to get up in the middle of the night for--cats love to attack feet under the

covers! ;o))

It's a girl!!

She has arrived and right now is in seclusion in Katey's room. I'm afraid

Snoop may hurt her..his nose is very powerful and he likes to use it to

nudge

things. She is a black and gold spotted leopard bengal kitten and is 8

weeks

old. No name yet :)

Congratulations Terri! LOL

It's a GIRL!!

For those who haven't heard from me in about a week....

No... I didn't have a baby (though when I look in the mirror on some

days...

lol) We have a puppy!! (now wondering where her right mind is)

I received a phone call from my Sister a week ago this past Saturday....

she

was at work and wanted me to come up to the 911 Center to pick up her new

puppy (yep... you read that right... HER new puppy lol) I packed up Mikey

and 2 of his friends that were over for the day... stopped at the grocery

for some Lunchables as lunch on the fly was the only was I could get them

something to eat on short notice and I grabbed some puppy chow too. The

911

center received a police call from one of the Rescue Mission drop off

centers... someone had left them 7 puppies overnight in a tote. Well the

nut

that my Sister is asked the officer who went to the call to bring the

puppies to the 911 Center because it was very close to the 911 Center and

she wanted one. At one point Onondaga County and the City of Syracuse was

being attended to by a bunch of 911 workers and 7 puppies! 2 of the

officers

that went on the call each took home a pup and one of the other

dispatchers

took home a pup.... the 2 others went to a local pound that will hold on

to

them until they have homes no matter how old the pups get. So... I get up

there and I bring Miss Lucy home to stay at my house while my Sister

finished out her shift. Wrong move..... Mikey (ok and Me too hehe) fell in

love with the little girl. When my Sister showed up and she saw how much

work a puppy is she then realized her house is no where near puppy proof

and

wondered if we wanted her. What am I going to say... " No.. take her back " ?

I

was kinda in a pot, but not sorry I did it now at all. (you'd have to know

my Sister... this is pretty much the norm for her)

Needless to say I've been a tad bit busy! I love it! We aren't sure what

she

is... I know there's Pit Bull in there, but she's a mix with what looks

like

black lab and something else. I'll post a pic later (hopefully she'll stay

still long enough for me to snap the camera) If anyone can help me ID what

breeds she has in her I'd greatly appreciate it... her vet visit isn't for

another 2 weeks and I'm totally perplexed. She has BIG feet in the

front...

bigger than the back. I like to say she has a size 3 narrow in the back

and

a size 8 wide in the front :) Her chest is wide and strong like her front

legs, every paw is white tipped along with a white chest and a little

white

spot under her lower lip. She has big floppy ears that hang in the water

when she drinks and a lot bigger than Pit puppy ears. The only place she

shows Pit Bull is in her front arm pits where she has the famous pit

brown/tan/black mottling coloration, but you have to know what a Pit looks

like to really notice... otherwise it looks likes lighter fur. Up by her

ears on top of her head she also has 2 little brown spots that look like

Rot

but you can barely see them unless she's in bright light. Her nose is

narrow like a lab and she has wrinkles like a Pit Bull only not going with

the ears up the middle of the head like a Pit.... her wrinkles are over

her

eyes like eyebrows! lol She loves shoes on her nose and in her mouth!

Kennel

training is underway!!!, but she is having a horrid time of it during the

day. We don't use the kennel as a punishment, but as a puppy time

out/Mommy

needs to sweep the floor without chasing the pile 4 times where she's

grabbed the broom LOL She won't stay alone in the kennel at all during the

day.... something I need her to get used to... I don't have many days

during

the week when I need to go out, but when I do it's something that can't

wait

until there is someone here to puppy sit. I put her in it every morning

when

I take Mikey to the bus and from the sound of her you'd think we has her

tail caught in the kennel door and it starts before we walk out until I

walk

back in the door. She's fine in the kennel at night. Any pointers would be

great! Please.... it's ripping me heart out when I can hear her in the

driveway.

Oh and she also looks exactly like our other black lab....so alike that a

neighbor thought they were Mother and baby.

Last night, Saturday night, we welcomed the newest member of our family to the world. I am not sure how to spell her name yet, but it is pronounced "KAY-linn". She entered the world around 8:45 pm after a very short 4 hour labor. She is about 6 lbs 6 ounces and about 19 inches long. She has already discovered her mouth and spends much time exploring it with her fingers. We weren't sure it was time yet, but Virginia was very much in pain, and they weren't sure what to do. I had to insist many times that TAKE HER TO THE HOSPITAL immediately, which he did. was the epitome of the cool dad-to-be. He kept it together, was so very much there for Virginia. We are very proud of them both. We'll get some pictures downloaded and sent, and we will keep updates on our blog-site as well. We'll send more information as we can. , Marilyn and Ybarra
