I was wondering if anyone else will be going down when I do? I am scheduled this coming Monday, Dec. 11th for surgery & will arrive in SanDiego airport at 11am Sun. on the 10th.This is my 1st post. I have been reading everything written for 6 mos.,althought checking the internet about it for 18 mos. I almost feel like I know people I haven't even met. I am sticking to the pre-op diet & losing a few lbs. so far. I have tried to think of everything to bring & have here for later on, of what I've read I will need, trying to pack LIGHT, but include the necessities. I'm excited but yet it doesn't quite seem real yet, but I have faith it will all turn out good. Looking forward to being one of the group. Cheryl

Welcome Cheryl...You'll do great and they'll take great care of you...It's been a great experience for me, one I wouldn't trade for anything...Not only does the band help you lose weight it gives you back some of your self confidence (speaking for myself here)...It's a shame as a heavy person we feel like were less of a person...We should never lose our self confidence no matter what our size...So buckle up and get ready for a great ride... Thank-you Rena. I'm at the countdown phase now! I have a list of everything I want to accomplish before I leave & marking it off. hard to believe it's just days away. I do have complete faith in my care down there. I will keep posted as things go. thanks again! Cheryl

Hi Cheryl, I haven't posted any updated photo's, but will soon I purchased a digital camera, but haven't sat still long enough for a photo. I'm doing lovely. I've lost 36# and as happy as can be about it. I LOVE MY BAND!!!~How's your daughter and hubby on you being banded? I remember you emailing me privately with sadness that they were so against this. If you remember my hubby was dead set against my banding, but I knew that this was for me so I left in the middle of the night and that really got his goat, but he then realize how serious I was to do this. He's a happy man now tho. He's just very protective of me. Anyway so glad to hear you set the date. It's rough in band boot camp, but then it only gets easier once you figure it out and learn to live with your new buddy the band. If you treat it right~it

I'm having the gastric by pass and my husband is not really happy about it either, but more scared then anything else. He knows me enough that when I've made up my mind to just let it alone, but he told me yesterday, he supports me 100% but is just scared. He will be with me when I go anyway.
