Guest guest
Why do people have to be such jerks? and I went out with my son for a nice night out for dinner and drinks. We were only in the club an hour and when we came out 's car was gone....pedal extensions and all!! Since there are only 2 other LP's in the community (one being his mother) and he was the only LP in the club at the time we know whoever did it knows whose car they stole. All I can say is I feel terribly violated and I DON'T pity whoever did it when I find out who it was. They deserve whatever happens. Yes, I'm bitter. I've never had this happen to me before and I'm angry, terrified and more. Don't criticize me, don't berate me, don't give any moral platitudes because at this point it won't work. I just had to rant, and being Easter Eve I don't feel very Christian or loving right now. Sorry about the damper I'm sure I put on everyone's holiday weekend but I had to get it out. ~Nan~
Guest guest
My brother had his car stolen 20 years ago. They took the pedals out and left them in the grass. His car was found a few days later in fine condition. I had two cars stolen in 2001 (my wife's and mine) in a span of about two weeks. Both of us used pedal extenders. My wife's car was found about a week later, totally torched and burned out. Her pedals were never found (probably destroyed in the fire). Mine was found the same day it was taken, with the thieves in the car (they were parked in a public lot smoking pot -- didn't even see the cop until he arrested them). They unrigged my car, but threw the pedals in the back seat. The nice thing about my wife's car was that we paid $6000 for it, and the bluebook value was $8000, so we actually made money from the insurance company. It's really aggravating and frustrating, but almost assuredly, your car will be found (hopefully in one piece). The main thing to worry about now is if you had any checkbooks or other ID in the car. My wife left her checkbook in hers, and they tried to cash some checks. That was a pain to clear up. If you did leave anything that could lead to identity theft, act on it now. Notify your banks, credit card companies, and consider buying credit and ID protection -- Lifelock, or most major banks carry policies. They're not expensive (like $9 a month). Almost all car thefts are done by people with drug habits. It's hard to feel now, but they do deserve pity. But in the moment, I know how you feel. I wished nothing but fire and brimstone to rain down on them.
