Guest guest
, That is just fabulous! I didn't feel good until 4 DAYS went by. I washed my hiar before the surgeon said i could by holding a towel to the incision and letting my other wash my hair over the sink. That was the best feeling. You are going to be a star if you keep up this fabulous attitude! N24C 2000
Guest guest
Congratulations ! Hopefully just the start of good news for you. Keep us posted. JJ in MN from Pittsburgh Hi! It's been 4 hours since they finished my surgery and I feel FABULOUS!I'm at my aunt's apartment in the city..she likes to pamper me! I'm sipping on a Mocha Malt Frappiccino from Starbucks and eating stuffed grape leaves and pita bread. I am not kidding you! My ear or the surrounding area feels like a brush burn kind of pain with a little just-got-new-glasses in back of ear pain. You know the one I mean? I have one black and blue mark the size of a quarter on my check bone.(the needle for the facial nerve something or other?) Dr. Arriaga said everything went perfect and I'm gonna be his BIG STAR..LMAO I did ask " Hey did u happen to punch me in the eye? " LOL.....The actual surgery he said took 1 hour. He shaved me and said he didnt take much off at all. I will see tomorrow..ANDDDDDD I do not have a bandage. I have like a ear muff and he said I can take it off but he hopes I leave it on till morning. It has elastic but he said to loosen it all I want.I do see loads of hair coming out from under it though. That's encouraging! He said I can shampoo in 3-4 but to try to avoid the stitches. He said go home and do whatever you can tolerate but don't make any fast starts. I went to the bathroom in the hospital by myself -I was not even dizzy. The only thing that I find painful more than anything is if you pop your ear like if you try to NOT sneeze. That HURT! Other than that and slight toothache kinda pain and mild stiffness everything seems just great. Tomorrow I'll update--maybe tomorrow will be worse I don't know. He gave me darvocet, percocet and amoxicillin. Said if I get dizzy to buy OTC Dramine.OK...I'm going back for more food. BTW slight left side tongue numbness but no bad taste....more later........ Guest guest
, That's great that you are feeling so good; Even so, get plenty of rest tonight.. Some people tend to feel a little more yucky the next day so just take it easy and let yourself be spoiled! Hugs, Silly
Guest guest
, I washed my hair before i was supposed to also.. well, Cin and I washed each others hair and kept the towel tight over the incision so no water got into it. Even though I couldn't wash near the incision, it still felt soooo good to get all that gunk out of my hair. Hugs, Silly In , Ci92000@a... wrote: > , > That is just fabulous! Guest guest
, Well - it's been more than 4 hours now and I hope you are feeling as well as you did this afternoon when you wrote your post. I was so happy that things went well and hope they continue to do that for you. Please try to take it slowly..rest..don't move fast. I know your excited but you did have surgery and you need to give yourself some time to heal. Rest now.. it's your time to be waited on. Guest guest
wow u r pretty lucky lisa.. when i had my surgery it lasted 61/2 hours and i was a lil wild coming out of the ansthetics i realized i couldnt yell or move my head etc.. had no stomachache tho and my surgeon tried to tickle me.. tried to eat chicken noodle soup when i got hungry but almost choked swallowing a noodle ... i got a big suprise that day my uncle from philly came to see me in the hospital (i stayed overnight) and my mom had no idea cuz my grandparents didnt tell anyone... i thought i was dreaming lol when i had to go to the bathroom i had both my mom and a nurse holding me up before i even got myself off the bed and i almost fell over but my head did feel weird even though i didnt have any pain except for one spot on my neck sincei wasnt tired i stayed up till like 12am eating ice cream and whatever... when i washed my hair my mom just put a rag over my right ear and poured water on my head.. after i took the bandage off i was surprised to see hair growing back already even though he didnt take much off.. good luck! Guest guest
, Hey, you got a good Doctor there. I use to be a patient of his partner Dr Chen at Pittsburgh Ear Associates. Dr Chen removed both my Acoustic Neuromas and save the hearing what I had left in both ears back in 95 and 96. In fact Dr Arriaga I think reviewed my MRI's before my implant for my Dr here in ville since they are friends. Did they do your implant at AGH? Good Hospital. I use to live in Raccoon Twp (where Flight 427 crashed) which is west of Aliquippa. I moved here to ville 2 years ago. It's nice to " hear " from someone in " da Burgh " . Ask Dr Arriaga if he remembers me, Mike , I also met him at a few ANA functions too. Mike from Pittsburgh Hi!
