Guest guest
Hi Dora! Glad you liked my long post. I just felt like typing a thank you, to all of you, in honor of my one year mark. This forum is terriffic! For the most part, yes,my balance has improved since the surgery. I think I jinxed myself when I typed that the other day. I still have days when it's not good and I end up two stepping or weaving all over the place. After a few hours of weaving from side to side, while Christmas shopping, I came home and gave in to a nice nap. It was my worst balance day in a long time. I have no idea what makes one day better than another. When school started, I cut back on the amount of time I do my balance exercises so maybe I need to increase them again. Today, my balance is good and my energy is back up so I tore apart the kitchen and gave it a good cleaning. The stove never looked better! Oh, I recieved a wonderful surprise today! I have to tell you. I have been searching, online, for a site where I could listen to Christmas songs and read the lyrics too. So far I have only found sites that list the lyrics while playing the music. I was talking to my sister on the phone and asked her if her kids had any suggestions on what sites I could go to in order to actually listen to the song being sung and maybe see the lyrics too. She put my 14 year old nephew on the phone and he told me he has been working on a surprise for me. He is buring me a CD with a whole slew of Christmas songs on it!!!!! I can't wait. When I was hooked up for 3 months and just starting to get speech discrimination, he burned me a CD with quite a few of my favorite songs from the 70's. I need all the practice with music I can get. I don't recognize a lot of the music. I was surprised as I listened to the music of " All Come All Ye Faithful " , I could not follow it. I know the song by heart, but I could not tell where they were in the song. I could recognize " Drummer Boy " although I do not know all the lyrics to it. My goal for this next year is to work more with audio and music. We'll see how it goes. I must keep this one short and save some screen for others to type. ;-) Happy Thanksgiving!
