Guest guest
Thanks Nina. I would like the information on Hall because I do live in Las Vegas now. I really believe that this last fill is to tight. I can eat solids in the evening but if I eat just a little to much then up it comes. I stick to soft foods and mushies most the time. I am still losing and I feel good I just hate the acid reflux, heart burn!!! I have been taking zantac or prolosic, is that okay for the band? I also eat alot of tums for instant relief. Thanks for getting back to me. N. 290/155/170 I went past my goal 9/20/05 Re: HELP! anyone , It is hard to say what is going on without the doctor seeing it under fluoro but please go to a fill doctor and have a barium test. It will be more expenisve if you have a slippage and it is not caught on time. Do it ASAP. Stay on liquids in the meantime. Where are you living now? Las Vegas? Maybe you can dirve to Pheonix with Hall and have a fill with her, it is only 75 dlls I believe. Guest guest
... Is it possible for you to stop the TUMS? The reason is that for many people TUMS will help that moment but it can cause a rebound effect. In other words it works for the moment but it *can* (vs. will) cause more problems than you started out with. Here, I found a link for you. One section is what I am referring to, it says: >>All antacids, but especially calcium carbonate, can result in an acid rebound effect where the stomach acid surges back after the antacid has left the stomach, another reason for long-acting medications.<< And the link is: http://www.gicare.com/pated/calcium_carbonate.htm Just found an even better link, it says: >>Over-use of calcium based antacids may cause acid rebound in which the body exhibits a loss of acid inhibitory efficacy. After the direct acid-neutralizing effect of the calcium carbonate is exhausted, acid rebound occurs due to the release of gastrin, which results in an overproduction of acid. Antacids like Tums containing calcium carbonate can also cause side effects like changes in mental status, drowsiness, dizziness, loss of appetite, headache, nausea, vomiting, and weakness.<< http://www.remedyfind.com/treatments/14/1580/ Hope this helps! Guest guest
, I am not a bandster yet but for years I have used payapa enzyme tablets. They are wonderful with no side effects. I usually take 8-10, put them in my mounth and suck on them. I don't know if they would be allowed or not so check with Dr. Aceves first. My kids even liked to suck on 2-3 if they have a tummy ache. Now, my grandsons do too!Bipley <mybipley@...> wrote: ... Is it possible for you to stop the TUMS? The reason is that for many people TUMS will help that moment but it can cause a rebound effect. Guest guest
Thanks. I will stop the tums and I will continue to take the zantac because it is long-lasting. Guest guest
... Personal opinion here but I like the way Prilosec works over Zantac. Prilosec does more to fix the long term problem, Zantac does more to fix the short term problem thus I personally prefer Prilosec, Nexium, or Prevacid. Not everyone would agree so you have to see what works best for you. I feel for you, heartburn is really quite miserable! Are you propping yourself up on pillows at night time? Not eating right before you go to bed? Watching the foods you eat such as caffeine? Spices? The Noonans <jnjnoonan@...> wrote: Thanks. Guest guest
I am not sure where you live. But if its Vegas, it might be worth the drive to Mexicali to get checked under floro. I think is the Dr that I went to. She does not have floro. They located the port. Then withdraw all the fluid, fill you all the way and slowly take fluid out. While she was trying to access the port she made comments like " oh that was the tubing and opps that was the rubber sides. " They do not use the special needles that are reccomended. I walked out of there with no fill and lots of bruises for all the needle sticks. Guest guest
, She is very good and has a lot of experience, as I said on my earlier post there are some ports that are not found very easily by touch. She is one of the most experienced fill persons ( without fluoro) she has done hundreds and hundreds of fills. I guess she cannot get them all. Guest guest
Same . It is the first time I have heard anything negative about her as well, but then I've only heard one thing about her from someone else. I was planning on going to her but I just realized (stupid me) that Dr. Aceves is 3.5 hours away from Phoenix. I thought it was six hours just to San Diego alone. I didn't realize the San Diego airport is farther away than Mexicali from Phoenix. Personal (newbie) opinion only but I think I prefer the fill be done w/xray and the right needle. I'm just going to go to Dr. A and Dr. Campos. > > >
Guest guest
If her office is in Snowflake or Huber/overgarrd and comes down to Mesa once a month then yes. This was just my expeieince. There were many other people that she was able to fill. You might want to ask Nina if you must use the special fill needles. I heard at one point that regular needles leave a hole in the port. One other thing I did not like is (which might be dumb...) After a few missed attempts. But just hitting the sides. She told me to wait in the reception area and she would try one more time after a few minutes. I was really sore at that point. So I went into the lobby and she called her next patient in. As she did she made a comment to this lady. She told her this will only take a minute you are skinny. This might just be my crazy mind playing tricks on me but it felt like an insult. I waited and let her feel again but did not let her stick me. From now on I will make the drive to Mexico. It is worth the time. I sat here for a few days worring that the port and tubing was damaged. I also will go back to Mexico because she fills you all the way shut and then take out till you can swallow. I have noticed that when I get fills that I dont get tight until a few days later. I would probably close up with that type of fill. And to get an unfill would take forever with the drive....So from now on I will drive to Mexico to get filled under floro. Guest guest
I went to Dr. A for my first fill and now I know the drill. comes down to Mesa once a month and that’s only 30 minutes on a bad day from where I am. Guest guest
Is that something we need to ask when we call for a fill appointment? Do you use a Huber needle? BTW - what is a Huber Needle? Guest guest
Is the information below for the fill Dr? nina eguia <nina_eguia@...> wrote: , She is very good and has a lot of experience, as I said on my earlier post there are some ports that are not found very easily by touch. She is one of the most experienced fill persons ( without fluoro) she has done hundreds and hundreds of fills. I guess she cannot get them all. I am surprised she does not use the Huber needles though.... Nina Elam <welamhobaica> wrote: Is this Hall in Arizona you are talking about? I have my first fill scheduled with her Monday. Guest guest
Me? Phoenix. I just hung up from talking to Kira and I'm due for a fill in a few weeks. If she's up to it she's going with me. I'll post a week or two before I go and anyone that wants to go with me is more than welcome to ride along. > > > > > >
Guest guest
It is a non coring needle. If you use a regular needle it can core a hole in the port (there are other things Huber needles are used for) but a Huber needle will not. It's basically a different shape at the end. > > > > > > > Nina Eguia > Patient Coordinator, Dr Aceves > 888 344 3916 , 619-962-8142 > nina_eguia (DOT) com > > > > > > ____________ _________ _________ _________ _________ __ >

Does Kira live in Phoenix as well? Well, shoot, if you’re gonna be going sometime soon, maybe I’ll wait. I’m in bad need though. Eating like a little piggy lately. Guest guest
M., I live in Bullhead I think I just jumped in. I had a question about Dr. and I think I thought you were asking me where I lived, sorry. Please send me the information on Dr. and let me know how everything went. I don't plan on getting a passport anytime soon, or else I would head on back to Mexicali, but we spend so much money everytime we go. I think I will play it safe and head towards Phoenix. Thanks, Happy Holidays. Elam <welam@...> wrote: Wait. Who lives in Bullhead and who lives in Phoenix? I’m not sure who I’m talking with anymore. LOL. Thank you, M.
