Guest guest
Deborah, Some people never do good with meat ever again, some have problems with bread, etc. To decide if you need a fill have solid food, not mushy like the beans, this is the way you will see how much you can eat and hoe much time you stay without hunger. If you can eat 1 cup it is fine. The solid food will stay with you longer. You might be thinking about food because you are getting hungry between meals, if you eat solid food, do not drink with your meals and still are hungry in less than 4 hours then you probably need a fill. The first year you need to be on top of your fills, there is no exact rule, you will decide on this. Nina > > I had my first fill about 7 weeks ago. After my period I could only > get liquids down. Guest guest
, when I eat meat it hurts but, it still does not last long, like last night I ate ribs and chicken, at Chillis, we went straight home, maybe an hour later I was hungry again. Does this makes since, the meat hurts when I eat it, but it still does not stay in the pouch long. Deborah F. > > Hey Deborah, > I always wondered after my 1st fill if I needed another. This is what I figured out for me. > I try and eat more foods with heavier consistency, like meat. Bean are a little mushy and may not stay in the pouch as long, so I didn't feel as full and I was hungry all the time. If you are still having trouble with meat you still might have good restriction? I hope others on this site might have insight for you. Needing a fill is a very personal thing. We all eat differently and feel differently after we eat. I know I can eat a lot more when it is beans, etc. So, I stay with foods that I know will fill me up and keep me full for the longer periods if that makes sense? I probably confused you more. > Good luck! > > > Fill Question > > > I had my first fill about 7 weeks ago. After my period I could only > get liquids down. Guest guest
Thanks Nina and . No I have not been drinking with my meals. Even before I had surgery I would hardly ever drink with my meals so doing without the drinking has not been a problem for me. Last night I ate 2 chicken tenders and a plate full of beans so I am pretty sure I need a fill. Its just so confusing because one day I am extremely tight then the next I am loose. I have an appointment for a fill on Friday at 11:45, hope that is not too early, well they say 11:45 but usually you have to wait at least an hour before the doctor sees you. It was either that time or 3:00 next Friday and I did not want to wait till next friday because I don't want to risk gaining back too much weight. This will be my second fill. My first fill was 1cc. Deborah F. I was down to 205 but I have gained back 3 lbs because of my increased eating, I think. Goal: 155 Surgery Date: Aug. 6, 2005 > > > > I had my first fill about 7 weeks ago. Guest guest
Kim, my fill Dr. likes to wait 1 month before doing any more filling, maybe you could call and see what he/she thinks. I had a fill 1 week ago and I know I am going back in a month for a little more. I have a lot of restriction in the morning but by 2 PM I am eating anything again. It took 2 full days for my restriction (such as it was) to kick in. I haven't lost anything this past week either. It may take you a month to get in again too. Just call and get the scoop. Then you will be set. Penny > > Thanks , > > How close together can your fills be? Is there a possibility that my > restriction is delayed...or is it just not enough? Guest guest
Jenni, are you on a quest to offing off a bunch of chickens??? Now, I don't care for eggs myself, but not about to call them evil quite yet. Besides, my dad has made a living of feeding chickens, so they can be offed and eaten by folks...otherwise known as Farms! Anywho, I guess the Easter Bunny won't be coming by your place anytime soon.. ha ha. We'll call you " The Southern Sniper of Chickens! " Have a good one! > I was banded in May 06, lost about 15 lbs and had my first fill in Aug > with about .75 cc's. Guest guest
Now, Jenni, let's not get too hasty here! My son is raising free range chickens to eat and they are delicious and go down great (especially when I do 's drunk chicken recipe). I agree with you about the EVIL EGGS but our chickens never get old enough to lay eggs before we butcher them! I hope you are doing better and that your nasty infection goes away soon! Just FYI and for all newbies and fairly newly banded people, I have had 4 fills and one unfill and my fill Dr. does it without flouro. He has done many lapband surgeries and fills and is a very understanding Dr. he has several Mexican Dr. friends (although he has not met Dr. A). He is professional and my daughter and I have had no problems at all with our fills. He charges $55 for a fill after the first one which is $130. Too bad not many of you live anywhere near him. He is in sbluff, Nebraska. I just wanted everyone to know that there are good, reputable, reasonable fill Drs. out there. Guest guest
3pieces of pizza? I can't eat 3 and I'm not banded yet!karol_levy <karol_levy@...> wrote: Hey every body , I don't post much but I do read every day.I was banded 10/19/06I had my first fill a month ago, my band holds 4ccThe fill Dr. put 2cc in, I was surprised that she put that much in the first time. I did fine. I have not had any problem this far with any of the foods that I eat, no not even eggs lol. I chew, chew, chew. I have found that some breads were hard to get down so I don't eat much at all of bread. The Fill Dr. said She wanted to see me in a month, that I would probably be needing a fill by then. That is Monday 1/15/07 I am just nervous about how much she will put in. I hear stories about needing an infill.. I have lost about 23lbs all togethernot much of that was after the fill, but I have lost inches, and I am good with that. My concern is I have restriction in the mornings, like no food at all only liquids till about 10:30 or 11:00. I did read that it could be that I am not getting enough H20, I am wondering if I get another fill on Monday will I be sooo tight that I will not be able to get fluids down? well last time, she (the Dr.) had me drink real fast to make sure it goes down. I have been trying to get in more water. My daily intake looks like this. I drink 3/4c of coffee in the morning a bottle 16oz water, then about 20min later I have a 42gram protein drink and in 30min a yogurt. noonish I eat a salad or lean c. hour later 20.0z bottle of water I work on till almost dinner last night I ate almost 3 pieces of pizza not big ones, and I don't eat the back crust but Ithought that was allot. 1 hour after dinner I start trying to get some more water in. what do you old timers think on where I am.I will probably get a fill but not so much? Guest guest
Hi Karol Yeah I think you probably could get a small fill. I haven't been able to eat (or sometimes even drink) until about 2 PM for a long time. I'm lucky to get in 8 oz of liquid before noon so you are doing great! I figure you would be losing some lbs. and definitely couldn't eat that much pizza if you were real restricted! Your Dr. will know better what you need. Good luck!
