Guest guest
Kelli wow, I am so amazed that you took the time to address us newbies. You made a conscious effort to address us that are having this surgery soon. And that includes me.....I am very very scared of not being able to handle the first two weeks. AFter all, duh! I adore food! Plus I am afraid of being so weak like I've heard over and over. I want to thank you for your post, it sure meant a lot to me. I'm flying out Monday and having surgery Tuesday so it's getting really close. I know I am abnormally anxious because I've been getting migraines the last 24 hours, a sure sign. Anyway thanks again for thinking of us! I can't wait to be a loser and I'm just hoping the first weeks are a little easier than I am anticipating! \ > > I wanted to wish each of the newcoming lapbandsters all the best > with their upcoming surgery. Guest guest
Kelli, What a sweet, sweet post! This group never ceases to amaze me! I have received so much encouragement since posting that I was having a really hard day that it is unbelievable! It was so comforting to read what others had to say and their words actually got me through the tough day I was having. I have felt so much better since then! That bad day was Thursday. Friday morning, I felt great. My sons finally came home from being out of town since before my surgery and this made a HUGE difference!!! Plus, I finally began to drink Isopure. Now, the taste really sucks but the protein gave me the energy I was lacking! Then, to top it off, one of my dear, skinny friends brought me dinner last night. She brought me some homemade mexican flavored broth (NO SALT!!!) and homemade french onion broth!! I felt like I had died and gone to heaven! She also brought me some freshly squeezed pineapple juice, my family a casserole for dinner, and even brought them desert. What a blessing!!! I took my broth to my bedroom, piled up on my bed watching television while my family pigged out on some homemade food in the kitchen! So, once again, life is grand! Thanks everyone for your kind words! Jenni C. DOB 2/23/06 231/215/
Guest guest
Kelli, Thank you so very much. Your letter is the perfect encouragement. I have my "date" set for the 22nd of March, and now it seems that even more miracle products are appearing before me. They all offer an easier and less expensive answer to this situation. I find myself second guessing myself about my decision to do this. However, I also remember all of the times that I have set my hopes on these products, and been disappointed. Kelli <psichikel@...> wrote: I wanted to wish each of the newcoming lapbandsters all the best with their upcoming surgery. It's a chance of a lifetime to finally get our weight to a "normal" range. It's not an easy journey, there are bumps in the road but with the help of friends here we will do our best to absorb the shock I hope that your surgery goes well and that each of you recover quickly and are back home with loved ones. Remember to take it day by day, make sure to take joy in the little achievements and get your daily dose of support from here. I've been a bit busy but I've tried to keep up on the readings as much as possible. It will be hard during the liquid phase, at first you'll probably do okay with it cause you'll be alittle swollen and won't want to eat much but then later as you go on it does wear on you, but just keep in mind the reason behind it all, as it's to allow your body to recover not necessarily lose the weight. There are different ways to spice up some of the liquid phases, I have used Won Ton Soup, Hot Sour Soup, Wor Won Ton Soup...all of which were strained, but it has great protein in it because of all the veggies and meats (shrimp/pork/tofu) that is cooked in it, it gives you extra flavor as well as the protein. One thing I have found that has helped me is I don't weigh myself every day, in fact I don't own a scale and that has kept me from being discouraged. I know it's hard not to know what my weight is but I just go by how I am feeling, the energy I have and the way my clothes fit. I weigh in every 2wks at the health clinic on campus...however, if you do weigh yourself remember just to give your body a chance. This phase is not really the losing phase, that will come after the fills are started. Most of the weight you will lose now will be water weight which is always the first to go...so rejoice in the loss that you do acheive and work towards losing more in the future. We didn't get obese overnight, so it will take us some time to get the weight off...please do not get discouraged, keep plugging along and you will eventually see success coming in a variety of ways. I just want you to all be happy and succeed with pride. I wish you each all the best of luck, and I look forward to hearing your experiences as well as any photos you wish to share with the group. Guest guest
I have to admit that this is the first group of ‘websters’ that are anxious and excited to be ‘losers’! However that may sound – I am looking forward to joining the group of losers so in the end we are all winners! Kelli – thank you so much for your post! I am a bundle of nerves both because I am soooo excited to meet all of the wonderful people all of you keep talking about and also to get some R & R before, during, and after surgery – I am right in thinking this way, yes? Still nervous but can’t wait to meet you ! We’ll have to become band buddies, after all, we’ll have the same DOB. Question: I have detoxed before and use distilled water, pure lemon juice and pure maple syrup. I actually acquired a taste for it….is this OK to use in the first two weeks? The taste is quite sweet with the pure maple syrup in it and might be another liquid to add to the clear liquid recipes!? Question: Does the hotel room have high speed internet connection or do I leave my laptop home? Just thought if my cell phone doesn’t work – this would be a good way to communicate. Again, thanks to all who are excited, jealous, and supporting us newbies!!!! El mucho gracias…(that’s the extent of my Spanish) A. la Dolce Vita Salone & Spa 320.259.6682 320.259.0499 (f) From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Sent: Saturday, March 04, 2006 3:21 PM Subject: Re: Lapband Newbies Kelli wow, I am so amazed that you took the time to address us newbies. Guest guest
, I am from the only place that’s colder than Siberia but has 10,000 lakes!!!! Minnesota – YEA!**#*# I have most everything ready – traveling really light except don’t know whether to bring my laptop of not – somebody, help! Do they have high speed hookups where we are going? I’m dressing very casual and comfy and coming in thongs (clarify) boy, that dates me doesn’t it – ‘flip flops’. Bringing my Gatorade and jammies – and that’s about it – other than some personal hygiene items. Hopefully not missing anything important! Is there a list that I have missed somewhere along the line of what to bring? Hey all – when you’re uptight and stressed – come see me at our spa for a massage and cellulite inch loss body wrap – give you one heck of a deal!!!!! Guest guest
, I have a good one concerning thongs!!! I am 56 and have always called them thongs. I am a widow and my boyfriend is from England.........One day I went to have my nails done, pedicure included. I called my bf when I finished and not thinking I told him they gave me this awful colored bright green thong..........he sounded very strange. He hesitating ask are you wearing them? When I said of course.......He almost had a heart attack!! To him thongs are underwear! <susanbattelle@...> wrote: ooh, so you have a really long flight! I think Nina can answer that question about the computer hook ups....email her or call her if she doesn't answer here. You must be around my age (45)....I still call flip flops thongs, cuz that is what they are! ha ha. My girls always laugh at me when I call them thongs. See ya manana!> > >> > > I wanted to wish each of the newcoming lapbandsters all the best > > > with their upcoming surgery. Guest guest
Hee, Hee....After living down here in Florida for the past 7 years, there is now way you would get me that far north again...before June....even if you were giving away a free Massage. I don't think that I will be bringing much more then that. Don't have a laptop, so don't have to worry about it. <michelle@...> wrote: , I am from the only place that’s colder than Siberia but has 10,000 lakes!!!!
