Liz, you can't go wrong with choosing Dr. A and his team as your lap band surgeon. The hospital and the service is top rated. I had the most wonderful experience there. I was a little sick after surgery but, it was because I'm allergic to the anesthesia, but once I got over that we were all sharing our experiences and walking the hospital. It was totally awesome. Dr. A and his staff really cares about their patients. Good luck and keep us posted. Congrats to Rick and Jo, you are in good hands. 299,233,180 DOB: 6-30-06lizoneil06 <doclizdc2005@...>

That's a little too far from the border for my tastes. I like the fact that I can drive to Dr. A anytime I wish if there is a problem. No passports, no annoying anything. He's 0.5 miles inside the Mexican border. Hospitalization is two days, his track record is fantastic. This guy might well be cheaper but in the long run with airfare, customs, passports, etc., I would still rather pay a few dollars more and know for sure it is being done right. However, people tend to swear by their surgery (band/bypass) and their surgeon the way they swear by their religion. I fully admit, I am one of them. I made research a full time job including driving to Nogales and had a very cool doc help me research. This doc and I have become friends now. He helped me verify Dr. A's credentials, he called his doctor friends in Mexicali and asked their opinion of Dr. Aceves. All

three docs that he called asking if Dr. A was any good or if there was someone better .... they ALL said the same thing. If they had to have bariatric surgery or if their family members did, Dr. A would be the only surgeon they would go to. I wouldn't dream of going to anyone else or sending my friends to anyone else. But again, that is purely my opinion. However, I do base that on a LOT of research and leg work. I did everything I needed to do, I verified everything I could. I talked to everyone I could. I joined various email groups. After all my research it was a no brainer. Dr. Aceves only.Suzanne <craslopez@...> wrote: He is in Monterrey and works out of the Santa Engracia Hospital. Thanks This helps alot. I have looked into the physician's credentials and the area. Are you sure you are not going to need a passport to get to Mexicali now? I thought it was anyone entering Mexico from the US.

If you drive in Mexico you do not need a passport until next year. If you fly to Mexico you need a passport. Dr. A's office is on the border, you fly to San Diego, CA and Ernesto picks you up at the airport and drives you to Mexicali and drives you back to San Diego after surgery. No passports. Flying... entirely different story. If someone goes to the other doc they would fly to Mexico, true? Then a passport would be required. I don't know enough about Mexican laws and such to stray far from the border. My Spanish is good enough to get me in a world of trouble. ;o)Suzanne <craslopez@...> wrote: Thanks This helps alot. I just took this information from the Mexican Government Website. It says you need the passport to get out of Mexico by land, air or sea as of January. Getting in does not seem to be the problem.

Passport and Visa RequirementsPASSPORTS: U.S. citizens who travel to a country where a valid U.S. passport is not required, will need documentary evidence of their U.S. citizenship and identity. Proof of U.S. citizenship includes an expired U.S. passport or an original or certified copy of their birth certificate that must have the registrar's signature and a raised, impressed, embossed, or multicolored seal. If you were born abroad, a Certificate of Naturalization, Certificate of Citizenship, or Report of Birth Abroad of a Citizen of the United States will suffice. To prove identity, a valid driver's license or government identification card are acceptable, provided they identify you by physical description or photograph. Some countries require that your U.S. passport be valid at least 6 months or longer beyond the dates of your trip. If your

passport expires before the required validity, you will have to apply for a new one. Please check with the Embassy or nearest Consulate of the country that you plan to visit for their requirements. On effective dates below, all travelers to or from the Americas, the Caribbean and Bermuda, will be required to have a passport or other document that establishes the bearer's identity and nationality to enter or re-enter the United States. On December 31, 2006, the requirement will be applied to all air and sea travel to and from Bermuda, the Caribbean, Central and South America, Mexico, and Canada. On December 31, 2007, the requirement extended to all air, sea, and land border crossings.

I actually was reading it again and noticed that. I travel every week and am just concerned these days when someone travels without a passport. Especially after the last few weeks. Things are just a little to volitile right now. I just checked mine and it is fine until June. Better safe than sorry.

Thanks for the response.

Attention everyone, this is a message from Nina, she e-mailed this to me this morning. I had the same question regarding the passport. We don't need a passport to drive into Mexico, only if you are flying directly into Mexico. Hi , you do not need a passport because you will be driving into Mexico, you would need it if you were flying in. I am copying this email to Gaby, she is the one that schedules fills. I don't recognise his name but I did look into Monterrey. I almost went with Dr. Rumbant(??) but decided on Dr.A because he had a lot of experience, was closer to the border and the flights were cheaper.

Michel , Your weight loss is impressive. Can you share your eating routine with us new folks. I still do not understand why some lose 30 while others lose 60 in the same amount of time. I am sure that part of it has to do with how much you have to lose but the rest must be exercise and what you eat. Thanks Jane MossMichel <mchlanna@...> wrote: Liz, you can't go wrong with choosing Dr. A and his team as your lap band surgeon.

Sure! I usually can't eat or drink much in the mornings, but I do try to eat some oatmeal or cereal in the morning and by noon I have lunch. On good days I have chicken, rice, pastas, chunky soups, tuna, salads and crackers or fried zucchini, not all at once. Usually I can only eat a few bites, but I'm satisfied by being able to taste the food. On bad days, I have creamy soups and a few crackers, I'm not going to lie, I like potato chips and popcorn and they go down no pretty darn easy, so I try to stay away from chips but, popcorn I have often for a snack. Dinner, I have green beans a couple of bites of pork chops, or chicken, a little bit or rice, it's what ever works for me for that day. Some days, I can't eat anything, and others I can eat a few bites, so it's what ever works. I'm getting more food down lately and I'm stuck at the same weight so,

I'm ready for my second fill. I'm scheduled for February 3 for a fill and hopefully I can be 200 for my birthday in March. I also exercise at least a half hour a day. Keep working with your band. Good Luck M. jane moss <mom_jane_moss@...> wrote: Michel , Your weight loss is impressive. Can you share your eating
