Guest guest
Dora, Was it the first or second CI that needed to be reattached? You have had your share of difficulties that's for sure, and you have such a positive outlook. Bump > Hi Lee > Oh,yes,I had that bump but mine got bigger more gradually than yours did. What you are feeling is the part of the receiver below the magnet. It could be that bone is growing and pushing it out or as in my case..the receiver was not sutured in.. The magnet part also came out to the surface ..This is something that your surgeon should look at.Mine became so bad that it migrated down to my ear ..it was very painful. When my surgeon looked at it he said it would quite likely continue pushing out and breaking through the skin.He reccomended a reposioning surgery of my receiver..I had that done last Oct and everything is fine now.My hearing improved with the surgery also. > > Dora Weber > Nucleus Volunteer Advocate > dora_weber@... > > Bilateral > N22-96 > N24C-01 > Cochlear Otosclerosis > > >
Guest guest
Hi It was my N22 processor that had come to the surface and then fell down to touch my Pinna.I wasn't about to give up on it as I remembered the wonderful hearing that I had received with it.It meant changing clinics but i found one that was experienced with my problems both with having so many electrodes deactivated as well as repostioning surgery.
