Guest guest
Hey Ginger, I'm with you. Yesterday and today have been better for me too. Only 4 days to go, I'm hanging in there... You hang in there too. It won't be long and we'll be losing like these other ladies! I can't wait!!! Best of luck to you on your day! I will write with all the details as soon as I can! Take care! Hasta luego! Vivian Re: reached goal Vivian, man I'm glad I'm not the only one! It's been like the " Last Supper " every night this week. Everybody at work has been asking me if I'm OK. I have a VERY stressful job but 99% of the time I'm ok. Everyone kindof expects me to be the cool one when everybody else is falling apart. Now I've been kindof falling apart and I don't think my coworkers know what to do. Today was better though. I've been doing alot of positive self talk. Everybody that I've talked to seems to sail through this procedure. It helps alot to read and post on this forum. Hey..5 days. Thats great! Please post your experience! I want to hear about everything. Thanks for listening. Ginger > > > Sheri, you are truely an inspiration to me. Guest guest
Sheri and Both of you are an inspiration to me. I read the postings when I get a chance but a lot of them are questions for people who are interested in the band. I love to see the success stories as we are all working towards the same end result. Winning our war with weight! I am over half way to my goal weight with being banded a little over 4 months. I finally fit into a size 12 pair of pants this week. Today I am going through my closet and throughing out all my 18+ and 1x+ items. It is such a great feeling to feel the weight coming off and it seems sometimes like it takes a while for my body to shrink to the scale weight and sometimes the scale won't budge but clothes are getting baggy. Thanks for your stories and keep encouraging the rest of us! Jocelyn LaMotta DOB 11/19/2005 215/175/145" Gross, LMP" <jugross@...> wrote: Hey Sheri, I like your idea about a blow it day. I think I may try to have more calories one day to confuse my metabolism. It make sense. I have been so happy with my weight loss to date. Being banded is the best gift I have ever given myself. My daughter is getting married in 2 weeks and I just bought the most beautiful dress in a size 10 :0) I have been in 10 pants for a couple of weeks, but with tops I have been in a 12. I was so happy to try on a few dresses the other day and realize a 10 fit perfectly. Only with the band :0) I am so excited to be 17 lbs away from goal. I am going to turn up the exercise and really try and make it by my year anniversary. I am so happy that I will never go back. I have never had so much control over my eating. I have always been an emotional/boredom eater. Not with the band. I can honestly say I am in control of my eating for the first time in my life. I appreciate your awesome tips. Again, you are my inspiration. D.O.B. 7/20/05 210/157/140 ----- Original Message ----- From: wilkinsjl@... One thing I make sure of is to have a protein bar or shake every day. On the days when I could not hold down anything solid it would be a shake but here lately I prefer the bars just because they fill me up a little better. I also would have a blow it day once a week where I would go and have a big milk shake with loads of calories just to keep my body from slowing my metabolism down. I really do not exercise regular except chasing my 3 kids around. I also do all my own housework every day and I hear that vacuuming is good exercise!! LOL Anyway there is really nothing that is special about me I'm just very blessed to have found Dr. A and I see that you are almost at goal too. Guest guest
Hey Jocelyn, I am so happy for you. Down to a size 12 in just 4 months. You go girl!!!! Can you share any secrets or tips for others on the site. I think if we can all share what works, then we can help others in their journey. I think for me, what works is the band :0) My whole journey has been pretty effortless. I wish I could take responsibility, but it really goes to the band. I don't get hungry, and if I do I can only eat small amounts. So, I guess if I can advise anyone it is to keep a good fill. To try and find that "sweet spot" of restrictions. So, I am putting this out to the group. Please share what works for you. Lets bolster each other up and get to goal :0) Again, Jocelyn. All I can say is Wow! I am so proud/happy for you. Guest guest
Hi I agree that it would be good to share successful strategies for working with the band. I sat in one spot for over a month and now FINALLY I think I am making a downward move! I never get too hungry until mid afternoon and then I would eat some crackers or nuts or something pretty high in calories and carbs. I just got into a rut and now that I have paid more attention to what is going into my mouth, I have begun losing again! Much of my problem is that I am pretty sure I need a little fill and couldn't get into the fill Dr. for over a month! Anyway I haven't gained a thing and that is a first after a 1 month or more plateau! Congrats on your great weight loss and shrinking down to a size 10! Carla and I took a bunch of pics for a midway mark in our weight loss--she actually is over her midway mark and is wearing a size 6 jeans!!!!! I'll have to post them when I get home. I hope the last 17 lbs. go quickly! Guest guest
I agree with you.... It is the band. I fought it for a while and tried to eat things that I couldn't but now I just accept it. I have been eating much more healthy since I've had the band. Part out of necessity part out of desire. My band won't allow for much breads unfortunately so Pizza and sandwiches are out. I PB if I eat them and I am very afraid of slippage so I just avoid it. I eat salads a lot and watch the dressing. I eat oatmeal for breakfast because if fills me up or shredded wheat with berries and I am often tightest in the AM so I don't need much. I listen to the band and when I feel full I stop. It's been such a blessing to feel like I can be healthy again. I will say that I've only walked occassionally and now that it is getting nice again I plan to increase my cardio to get the rest of the weight off. That is what works for me and I love the band! I would do it all over again as it has created the way of life that I was undisciplined to create for myself without it! I will keep you posted!
