Guest guest
Wow, 100 pounds in 8 months? Geez, that is incredible. You must have followed the diet to a T! Congrats! Why do you have to get an unfill? Leave it the way it is and you'll maintain. I hope to be as fortunate as you! > > I would just like to write and let everyone know that I have lost 100 > pounds as of this morning. I started out at 235 and am now 135. Guest guest
Hi Sheri, Congratulations on reaching your goal!!!! You have done a great job of losing!!! There is no way I can lose 100lbs. in 8 months but I'll just have to be patient, I guess. How many fills did you have? You won't get a complete unfill will you? Just a little so you don't lose too much, right? What a great feeling for you. Guest guest
> Sheri, you are truely an inspiration to me. I will be banded 4/19...13 days and counting and even though I know I'm doing the right thing all these doubts creep in. Especially the " what if I fail? " doubt. Lately I have really been eating, almost like I'm never gonna eat again! I know it's just stress. Did you feel like that before your surgery? Anyway, congratulations! I haven't been banded yet (4/22), but I have already "worried" about what it would be like if I relaxed (guess unfilled is the right term) my band - would I go back to my old habits? I think it's a very real concern/fear for many of us. Stick with the posting/board and get all the support you need for all these great people!! Congrats again. Guest guest
Hi Penny, I have only had 2 fills. My first one was 6 weeks to the day after surgery and then 3 weeks later I had to go back for another. The 2nd fill really did the trick but at times it was too tight. I was losing weight so fast that I didn't want to undo it. I will not get a complete unfill and I'm really not sure if I'll get one at all. Here lately I can eat quite a bit so I may just see how it goes. Anyway thanks for the well wishes and I hope things continue to go good for you. Guest guest
Hi , I really don't have a typical food day. I really try to mix it up and not eat the same things every day. One thing I make sure of is to have a protein bar or shake every day. On the days when I could not hold down anything solid it would be a shake but here lately I prefer the bars just because they fill me up a little better. I also would have a blow it day once a week where I would go and have a big milk shake with loads of calories just to keep my body from slowing my metabolism down. I really do not exercise regular except chasing my 3 kids around. I also do all my own housework every day and I hear that vacuuming is good exercise!! LOL Anyway there is really nothing that is special about me I'm just very blessed to have found Dr. A and I see that you are almost at goal too. Guest guest
Ginger, To tell the truth I found out about the surgery and scheduled it within 2 weeks so I didn't have much time to have doubts or to worry. I was way too excited. Trust me though, you will not fail if you follow the rules and be good to yourself. Good luck to you and God Bless, Sheri Wilkins " <gingerlarsen@...> >Sheri, you are truely an inspiration to me. I will be banded 4/19...13 days and counting and even though I know I'm doing the right thing all these doubts creep in. Especially the "what if I fail?" doubt. Lately I have really been eating, almost like I'm never gonna eat again! I know it's just stress. Did you feel like that before your surgery? Anyway, congratulations! Guest guest
Hi Ginger, I have 5 days till surgery and I know just what you mean. I am eating again even after eating! Two nights ago, I actually ate so much (a 3rd plate of spaghetti) that I PBed! I have never done that before! Gross!!! I can only attribute it to nerves (normally I'm not a huge eater, I eat the wrong things, skip meals, etc. This was the first such experience - Yuck!!). Anyway, just wanted to let you know you're not alone. Less than 2 weeks to go! Keep your chin up! Vivian Re: reached goal > Sheri, you are truely an inspiration to me. Guest guest
Vivian, man I'm glad I'm not the only one! It's been like the " Last Supper " every night this week. Everybody at work has been asking me if I'm OK. I have a VERY stressful job but 99% of the time I'm ok. Everyone kindof expects me to be the cool one when everybody else is falling apart. Now I've been kindof falling apart and I don't think my coworkers know what to do. Today was better though. I've been doing alot of positive self talk. Everybody that I've talked to seems to sail through this procedure. It helps alot to read and post on this forum. Hey..5 days. Thats great! Please post your experience! I want to hear about everything. Thanks for listening. Ginger > > > Sheri, you are truely an inspiration to me. Guest guest
Hey Sheri, I like your idea about a blow it day. I think I may try to have more calories one day to confuse my metabolism. It make sense. I have been so happy with my weight loss to date. Being banded is the best gift I have ever given myself. My daughter is getting married in 2 weeks and I just bought the most beautiful dress in a size 10 :0) I have been in 10 pants for a couple of weeks, but with tops I have been in a 12. I was so happy to try on a few dresses the other day and realize a 10 fit perfectly. Only with the band :0) I am so excited to be 17 lbs away from goal. I am going to turn up the exercise and really try and make it by my year anniversary. I am so happy that I will never go back. I have never had so much control over my eating. I have always been an emotional/boredom eater. Not with the band. I can honestly say I am in control of my eating for the first time in my life. I appreciate your awesome tips. Again, you are my inspiration.
